Nah, we must drop them because they suck.

I wasn't aware that the 'future' (Raina, Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Yuvraj Singh) dropped any catches. Because that's who replaces VVS and Ganguly.

Wake up - Raina isn't playing. Yuvraj was already playing when Ganguly and Laxman were. The others are bowlers. And no catches have gone all these others' way this Test - so just you wait...

Oh ok, so you would get rid of Jaffer and Sreesanth?

That works, considering Dravid as an opener was so successful. Otherwise, please tell me, Oh oracle of all things, what would the team composition look like?

Please - no whining now. Please keep smiling. All your posts are complaints...
Look man all of us were frustrated after those dropped catches, but you have got to move on. It's very easy sitting in your cosy rooms and whine all day, Its 40 degrees out there in Mumbai and add humidity to that, its incredibly hard conditions.

Yes, but there is a reason I am sitting on my butt yelling at the TV, and they are playing a Test match. Those catches must be taken at this level.

Yes, I feel really really sorry. All these guys making millions PLAYING cricket. Get real - your sympathies could be directed to a lot less fortunate. This is really the problem with India - the bar is set so low and the expectations are so minimal that we are no where to be seen in world sport.

The bar is set low? Have you watched any of Indian TV shows on cricket?

And as for making millions...good for them. They should make a lot more.

Well, I rest my case. People like you prove my point. You want to accept such mediocrity (this is a completely depleted English side) it speaks volume for your standrads. As Botham is just pointing out - Pathan should have caught that inside the boundary.

I am glad you have time to watch the Indian TV shows on cricket after watching this tripe for 5 days. Good for you.

I don't understand, how am I 'accepting' mediocrity? I've just called out Sehwag, Pathan, and most of the rest of the team for not performing?

Please enlighten me.

And, no, I know of Indian cricket shows and catch one from time to time but I live in the US, so I can't watch regularly. I do know that most shows do everything but sympathize with the cricketers.

And as for money, considering the amount of money BCCI takes in...I would much rather have the players make more in terms of pension and etc than the paper-pushing corrupt beurocrats of the BCCI. People like Tendulkar don't need pension, but a lot of first class and players of the past do.

Well, enlightening you may be a tall task. But you think that they should make more money when they have dropped 3-4 catches in one hour. It isn;t whether these shows sympathize with the cricketers or not but such performance does not EVEN DESERVE TV 'shows'. When the #1 pace bowler cannot get above 125kph.

They may win or they may lose but the cricket they have played in Tests in Pakistan and here is very very medicore.

Been reading these posts for a few weeks now without posting cuz thing's getting a bit hectic now that I'm back in Singapore.. But 318/3 looks a very formidable position for England. Don't see if anything short of a magical spell can get England out before 400.

One question, how effective do the bowlers look? I mean, apart from Pathan's slowness and dropped catches on Munaf's bowling?

There is another explanation. It's called incompetence. Just like the decision to field. And the decision to give Pathan the new ball TWICE. Or, the decision to give Chappel such free reign. Or to keep Pathan bowling right now and remove Munaf.

I like the way you always round off every discussion to - "they make millions, hence they must always succeed n never make any mistake."

Pathan hasn't had pace lately, but at least he's been accurate with the new ball once in a while. Here, he hasn't even been able to do that. Utter tripe.

Munaf had at least 4 or 5 deliveries that could've resulted in wickets (dropped catches, catch outside the boundary, near stump-misses).

Sreesanth hasn't been at the Nagpur level, but he's done alright at times. Picked up 2 wickets.

Kumble has been average, unable to find rythm.

Harbhajan has been very ordinary except for 2 or 3 fine overs.
