Why is inconsistancy a hallmark of Indian bowlers? The current crop makes Ajit Agarkar look as consistant as Bradman.

What has been Munaf's speed like in this test ?
I am watching it now, and its between Sreesanth and Pathan (low-mid 80's mph).

You are in the US, why aren't you watching it?

EDIT: Just as I said that, he bolwed one at 89 mph (143 kph)...though it was a yorker.

Uhh yeah, but you do make plans based upon expectations of your own team and the other team. Dravid's decision wouldn't look so bad if Pathan didn't bowl tripe with the new ball. Frankly, the English top-order (Strauss) exceeded the expectations they had set through this series and the Indian new-ball attack didn't live up to the expectations that have been built thus far in this series (after the impressive showings from Sreesanth and Munaf).

Still, 4 days to go ... should be interesting to watch.
Please don't whine about Pathan. Try to be positive

    ..dude this is only the first day of the test match and it's not like England have already scored 500 runs or something. I dont think Dravid made a ponting like mistake here, from what I hear, there was lot of movement in the early morning and if he had put england to bat, it could have backfired as well considering they have Hoggard and Anderson. Not to forget that our opening bowlers especially Pathan bowled crap, we dropped catches..it was one of our worst days in this series and England are only 272/3, so no I am not worried at all.
A depleted and WEAK England side ends up at 246/3 and you say Dravid did not make a mistake. Must think about that - it's too deep for me. In fact 294/3 even as we speak...Yup, Dravid was right on...

It was a mistake. It happens.

Yep, that was out.. but indians didn't seem like they appealed for the LBW.. they had an half hearted appeal for the catch behind the stumps..

anyway Pathan is bowling at less than 120 Kph

Wow - he increased his speed from yesterday

Tha ball is really carrying and swinging today - so much for putting England in to bat yesterday

pathan is bowling well with the new ball.
He is bowling OK, but he does not have any speed.. and there is that little swing that he always relies on.. he needs to work on gaining some speed..

Dravid making the same mistake in persisting with Pathan that Ganguly made with Zaheer...THE NEW BALL SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SREESANTH...Even Bhajji & Kumble can bowl at 110Kph
