yes i know the Kabir comment was just a joke really, its just frustrating that it always seems to be Anderson who gets messed around, when he was supposed to be given the chance to lead the attack in the carribean he gets to jet around the world and carry some drinks.

ha...ha...ha..Thats funny. I think anderson must be given more opportunities. He has the potential. But more matches should help him out to develop as a good bowler, rather than bringing in somebody form out of the squad.

After 16 years in international cricket, i'd say Sachin is allowed to have a run of bad form and still be kept in the side.

What's wrong with that if your reputation is as good as Sachin's? He has proved how good he is, and i believe he still has it in him to hit the heights again.

He's shown promise over the last 6 months but hasn't been consistent enough to stop people questioning his place in the side.

Some people just cannot respect the opinion of other people. You cannot help it dude. Certain members also discounted playing 5 bowlers for India as ridiculous when it was first suggested.

It seems any thing you don't agree with = rubbish for some members. Little do they realise that it makes them come across in a poor spirit more than any thing.

marc's sarcasm aside, what we are not getting from you and jono and people saying sachin should still be an integral part of the test team are good, solid reasons why....you are all either saying: 1. give it a rest because he is never going to be dropped whatever his performance is or 2. he is showing promise and will come good or 3. he deserves to have the team carry him during this extended run of bad form...or a combination of some or all of these....answer to 1. may be true, but still doesn't make it right or fair on the other team members(especially the ones that are performing) or hopefuls waiting in the wings...answer to 2. how long do we wait? answer to 3. this is exactly the kind of adulation that gives him the stupid demi-god status among irrational fans, he is a great player but he shouldn't be above the team or in the team to its detriment....

Anil made some valid points here which i totally agree with. At the end nobody is bigger than the game and if need be, tendulkar must be told in advance that if he doesnot pull his socks up and perform in tests, he runs the danger of being dropped, rather than dropping him abruptly like ganguly.

All three of those are valid, but my genuine reason for why he should still be in the team is #2 ... that he still looks like he hasn't lost it, at least to me. How long should we wait? I'd say give him this Mumbai test and the overseas series' against West Indies and South Africa to prove that he belongs in the team. The imminent World Cup is irrelevant here as it's his test spot that is being questioned. He's certainly great enough that we can give him that long of a period, take that risk to see if he's still worth it. The team is always above the individual, but Sachin is worth a two-series trial-run.

As for Ganguly, his exclusion was about more than just loss of form and an undeserved spot in the team. It had to do with indiscipline, tension with the coach and above all, terrible management of a delicate situation by the BCCI/selectors/media which eventually resulted in a disaster.
