making it 0-4-2 in the last six tests
0-3-3, even.

and I think to even draw 2 tests in Pakistan when Shaun Udal was taking up a place was an achievement. It was 11 against 10 and a potato.

Except we didn't draw two Tests in Pakistan. We lost 2-0. :p

no doubt Fletcher will pick his toy boy Plunkett over Jimmy.

Why couldn't they have called up Kabir and let Jimmy carry on playing in the Caribbean? seems Fletcher is on a mission to mess Anderson about as much as he can.

ha...ha...ha...thats funny. I think if anderson is selected he might just be a better option than udal or plunkett.

It all seems a question of Udal or Anderson and Im afraid I think he will go with the former
Nah, between Anderson and Plunkett, and Udal or Blackwell. England could get themselves in a decent position only to see India chase down a total because England can only bowl one spinner on a crumbling pitch. Pity we haven't even got Vaughan - just about any slow bowler who turns it would be handy.

Personally I would go for Anderson, gives the Indians something new to think about.

Nothing could be ruled out - I mean Harmison's just gone down now, and there's another 24 hours for someone else to.

Therefore you can't pick someone as useless as Kabir in case he's actually needed to play (a la Blackwell)

yes i know the Kabir comment was just a joke really, its just frustrating that it always seems to be Anderson who gets messed around, when he was supposed to be given the chance to lead the attack in the carribean he gets to jet around the world and carry some drinks.

You know I don't think Udal is as bad as everyone thinks he is, granted he was appalling in Pakistan but I think he could do a decent job this time round (well he couldn't do much worse).

Is Tremlett still injured?

I think it will be:

Strauss
Cook
Bell
Pieterson
Collingwood
Flintoff
Jones
Udal
Hoggard
Anderson
Monty

I'm hoping it'll be Anderson, with possibly even Udal coming in for Plunkett too. Picking bowlers who can bat a bit is ok when they actually warrant a place on their bowling (a la Gilo), but playing Blackie & Plunkers has effectively left us with a 4-man attack & a 5th bowler Fred palpably doesn't trust. They've hardly made half-a-dozen runs between them either.

The other option is to play the extra batter (Shah has a reputation of being a good player of spin) and rely on Bell & Colly as the fifth bowling option, with possibly even KP's offies being given an airing.
