oh comon, laxman got a gem of a delivery.. u just can't blame laxman for not getting one wrong..adharcric said:the glamorous indian middle-order legends should learn from kaif right now (laxman, are you hearing me)

You're right here, I'm being too rough on Laxman because that was a real gem of a delivery from Hoggard. But as someone said during the Ind-Pak series (maybe you?), Laxman has a habit of getting these gems bowled to him ... not that he's to blame for it.Jono said:Yeah because he went out playing a stupid shot didn't he? No he got an absolute gem of a ball on his first delivery he was facing. I'd hardly blame him for that. Hell, at least he didn't get bowled.
Dhoni and Pathan played some stupid shots, and considering all Kaif needed was someone to stick around with him, their shots were even more criminal.

If you're an honest, hardworking (if not very good) tail end batsman. You getting put at 11 and watching the other (rather podgy) spinner go in at 8 and look completely out of his depth and end up slogging the ball onto his own stumps isn't nice, either.Anna said:
Look, if you're standing in the outfield all day having only been allowed to bowl 6 overs watching the other spinner wheel away at the other end, you're hardly going to be full of confidence, are you?
well probably, but you cant doubt a full-strenght england attack has what it takes to restrict india in these conditions.Jono said:LMAO! Conveniently ripped that out with India 7 down.
yes, but it's better not to go into the "what if?s". what if yuvraj singh had played, he's a great pressure player. what if simon jones had played, he's a great exponent of reverse swing. hell, what if sourav ganguly had played, he's supposedly pathetic against pace ... but with his career on the line, maybe he would have scored big. you have a point, but let's avoid talking of the absence of simon jones, he's good but no mcgrath who dominates nearly every time he bowls.aussie said:well probably, but you cant doubt a full-strenght england attack has what it takes to restrict india in these conditions.
Erm how many times in the recent past has England big things in cricket? After you come up with that, come up with how many times there have been situations of player injuries.Choc888 said:why is it that after we win something big like the ashes loads of players get injured?
Great !adharcric said:This is really turning out to be an intriguing match now. Both times around, one opener scored heavily (Cook & Jaffer), the captain played a good innings and got an unfair dismissal (Flintoff & Dravid), the other "proven" middle-order bats failed and the one-day specialists who only got a place because of injuries (Collingwood & Kaif) led a recovery and the tail wagged quite well ... at least so far, let's see if India can continue this comeback.
i was not meaning just in cricket in sport generally like when we won the rugby world cupPratyush said:Erm how many times in the recent past has England big things in cricket? After you come up with that, come up with how many times there have been situations of player injuries.
