Nice hit out guys, really need Buts and Thamba to covert this form into Test Cricket now. Also good to see Watt back in the wickets.

Kennett races against time
Fast bowler participates in emergency training session

David Kennett has been spotted training vigorously with CW XI coach Tharmi Loganathan in the indoor facilities at Newlands. The leading CW XI fast bowler was said to be undergoing an intense session of coaching, in attempts to consolidate his action and to return to an effective rhythm with the ball.

Kennett started the tour of South Africa well, taking 10 wickets against the might of Free State, but has struggled since. In the Tests he has returned hauls of 1-49, 1-43, 1-76 and 1-44, and is under severe pressure to maintain his spot, with the likes of Kyle Wright in the squad, though admittedly plying his trade without much luck.

Sources close to the team say that the training regimen is effectively a race against time, as the coaching staff desperately attempt to get the key bowler back into form for the crucial third Test match, starting tomorrow in Cape Town. The Cricket Web XI are 2-0 down in the 5-game series, and need to avoid defeat to remain in contention in the series.

I've felt this training has gone really well, and think the work we've been doing will greatly improve my performances in the remainder of the series, expect some big things with the ball.

I've chucked a bit of a Harmison, much to my dismay, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Seeing as I'm too poor to go out tonight, I'm considering doing the live sim of the third Test around 10pm. That'd be 9am in Australia mefinks. Thoughts?

Cape Town thriller goes to final over
3rd Test - Cricket Web XI vs South Africa

Backs to the wall and everything to play for, the Cricket Web XI arrived at Newlands needing to avoid defeat to remain in contention for the Sanders-Donald trophy. South Africa won the first two matches by close margins in lowscoring encounters, but the pitch in Cape Town promised runs and a whole new mode of competition.

Both sides entered the game unchanged - a statement of confidence - and Graeme Smith won the toss, then chose to bat first in perfect conditions.
