The problem with going to the rose bowl, is that its in the middle of nowhere.. Easy to get to, but sod all to do if you dont want to watch all of the cricket
I'm sure Goughy's wife can be induced if it suits the interests of the community here at CWGoughy said:Do they have nets available? Ive already got permission from my heavily pregenant wife to take off for a day if something like this happens during our short stay in the UK
Yeah, that is true. However, it's an OD game so we at least won't have to deal with Ian Westwood-like anaemic run rates.Langeveldt said:The problem with going to the rose bowl, is that its in the middle of nowhere.. Easy to get to, but sod all to do if you dont want to watch all of the cricket
I'm just thinking of the needs of our kebab-heads.. I'm not paying nine quid for a slab of greaseMr Mxyzptlk said:Southampton central isn't THAT bad, and it's not overly difficult to get there from the Rose Bowl. We could...er... go shopping.
£9?! Kebabs are only £3.50 up here, thank ****Langeveldt said:I'm just thinking of the needs of our kebab-heads.. I'm not paying nine quid for a slab of grease
I'm not paying £9 for anything that I'm meant to eat in one afternoon.Langeveldt said:I'm just thinking of the needs of our kebab-heads.. I'm not paying nine quid for a slab of grease
I arrive in the UK on the 25th and leave on the 8th. I would love a meetup that involved nets but obviously I cannot make the Rose Bowl date.Langeveldt said:Sounds good, I'm in Prague till the tenth of Sept. after that is good, or before the 1st sept..

Solution: you bring your car, take orders, drive and collect orders, return. Neil pays your petrol bill.
If you want to come down to Exeter or Taunton, nets can be arranged free of charge for as long as you want.. I could do with facing some good bowling.. I think Somerset are playing then as well..Goughy said:I arrive in the UK on the 25th and leave on the 8th. I would love a meetup that involved nets but obviously I cannot make the Rose Bowl date.
For me it's two bus rides from wherever, so I'm not too bothered. There is a very large park in the City Centre (right next to where I work, weirdly) which we could use for a hit-around if we wanted as well.Mr Mxyzptlk said:Southampton central isn't THAT bad, and it's not overly difficult to get there from the Rose Bowl. Which part of the UK will you be in?
hmm, so you probably dont want to come all the way down to the south west..Goughy said:South Yorkshire
Good point, if we arent going to be watching though we need some goodish playing facilities..Mr Mxyzptlk said:New plan then... any day in Southampton. Doesn't have to be a cricket day. We can just spend it playing cricket rather than watching amateurs attempting to do so. Thoughts?
County indoor nets are always a good idea as noone uses them during the summer as they net outside. They are therefore pretty cheap and with plenty of availablity.Langeveldt said:Good point, if we arent going to be watching though we need some goodish playing facilities..
I personally can't be arsed to watch a full days cricket that doesnt involve SA or Somerset unless I'm taking photographs
Why would I, when I could go to Leeds or the Challenge Cup final?Matteh said:Anyone going to Reading this year btw?
