Fool, no reason to leave it that late other than not wanting to get out of bed before 4pm.

I'm confused, could someone succinctly put what's being planned because I'm free for the 4th I think but not 14th and wouldn't mind catching some of the cricket if possible.
What's planned at present is that I shall be at the Derbyshire County Ground (aka The Racecourse because it's where the old Derby Racecourse was situated a century ago) for the National League thrash against Rikki Clarke's mighty Surrey boys on the 4th of September (I think it's a Sunday).

I shall be bringing some beer along too (NOT Aussie lager - real stuff). Any CW member is more than welcome to come and laugh at me getting thrown out for drunkenness.

Times and meeting points to be published nearer the day.

I've just been phoned by Liam himself, and having adjusted to the accent, he'd like to do something in the W/C August 29.

The 29th is a Bank Holiday, so that's a bit of a non-starter (and it's Exeter v Forest Green anyway) - then I'm occupied on the 31st (Colts game) and the 1st and 2nd of September (East Devon Colts trials) - which leaves the 30th, which is also my birthday, but it'll suit.

Liam's in Guildford, so we're looking for a south-centre meeting point. Knowing the UK Railway system, my instinct is to go for Reading because you can get there from anywhere pretty easily. However, we now need to account for a) when to meet, b) who's coming and c) what we do in Reading.

I live in cornwall and i'm a student so I have no money. But If I can pinch a lift off anyone I'd like to meet up, sure. B) If I can come, that is. =o I probably should read the rest of the thread but my eyes hurt.

Okay, bumping time. Let's actually try to do this properly for 2006.

I'm back in Cleethorpes for five weeks now and have so, so little to do with myself that I actually went on a 2.4-km run this afternoon. Any offers within respectable travelling distance of here will be seriously entertained.

Draft Code of Practice for CW Meetups
1) Visitor arranges and pays for transport
2) Host arranges, pays for and provides nets and food

Could you change the thread name if it's not limited to 05?

Edit: Ahhh. Tricksy one, he is.

OK, I'm proposing to do 3 Clarkewatches this year, all in different parts of the country.

The certainty (in my mind) is on July 30 in the One Day League. This is reportedly to be held at Chesterfield, one of the most beautiful grounds in the country. Saying that, Derbyshire's new website is a little confusing - the fixtures suggest the game is to be held at Derby but the write-up on Chesterfield begs to differ.

I suggest a return to Brizzle as well - Gloucestershire play Surrey in the Championship at the start of September, and we really ought to do The Brit Oval at some time too.

More when I get dates sorted out. I've made enquiries and I can get a decent banner for about £25 - or perhaps I'll just paint a sheet.

If you're doing a banner, you really ought to find a game covered by Sky to stage a Clarkewatch. Get cw mentioned on there, too. ;)

Yep.

The idea is to have a big CricketWeb www thingy on it, "Clarkewatch - We're watching Rikki. Are you?" and, er, something else.

Neil seemed to think a while ago that there was going to be a ClarkeWatch at Taunton sometime - what happened to that? It would suit me down to the ground, as would the Rose Bowl. But I'm willing to travel - I have no life anyway. :)

We did one in Brizzle last season - the game when Surrey set the second-highest team total in history without a century. It was just Neil, me and a couple of pasties.

I can't draw to save my life - and if I got it printed properly and they charged me by the zit or the acre of tooth enamel, it'd cost a fortune.
