The final standings see the following matchups:

South Africa vs West Indies
Australia vs CW XI

The West Indies ended beating the CW XI by 0.06 on NRR to face table-toppers South Africa rather than defending champions, Australia.
Surely logic suggests that 2nd plays 3rd and 1st plays 4th?

This is turning into a brilliant tournament on a team level. We've made it to last four, it is already a success in my opinion. :)

Pity I'm holding the wrong end of the cricket bat at the moment. Heavy net session required. Stopped dropping things though.

**Injury Report**

Brian Lara will miss the remainder of the World Cup, due to a broken index finger, sustained during a net session today. West Indian fans are shocked and disappointed as the host team's chances are significantly depreciated heading into the final four.

Ok guys well we are now in the buggest game of our CW careers, this is the time when we hold nothing back, we win and this game will be forgotten and we move onto better things, however if we lose we will always rememer this game as the one that got away.
We can win this, SA have been batting well but our bowlers have also been bowling well, But it is our batsman who need to step up, scores in the mid 200's are hurting us, we really need to fire and this is the time to do it. So as a famous man once said, "NO REGRETS"

**CW XI vs South Africa**

Date: 05-19-2004

CRICKET WEB XI VS SOUTH AFRICA at Sabina Park
50 overs match
Pitch Condition: Normal

Well, we're almost home. Every game played by these teams in the last couple of weeks comes down to this one, in a bid to advance further to the WC final. Both South Africa and the CW XI have proved power players at some point or the other in this competition, with South Africa doing so throughout, in losing just one game.

The CW XI has found it a bit more difficult. They've struggled with the bat in recent games and have found it particularly difficult to survive the first over of their innings, losing wickets regularly early. They come up against the tournaments outstanding bowler in Shaun Pollock today, and the CW XI bowlers will face up to the outstanding batsmen of the South African lineup. Indeed, it should be a game for the ages.

Blewy has won the toss with a call of heads and after a bit of thought, he will bowl first.

The veteran Lucky Eddie marks his run. The crowd rages in the backround as he completes his stretches. He's set now.... takes one last gasp of air.... now he charges in......

Semi Final 2

Australia vs West Indies
AUSTRALIA 192 45.5 overs
WEST INDIES 193/9 46.3 overs

West Indies won by 1 wickets

Man of the match: JJC Lawson

Shockingly, the West Indies have sent the defending champions home a game early. In a tight game, Australia was defeated by just 1 wicket to ensure a CW XI vs West Indies final and strip the champs of their crown.

Next game...

The Final: CW XI vs West Indies

The Live sim will be held at 11pm Thursday/midnight GMT Thursday into Friday unless otherwise is suggested soon. That should be 6am/7am Friday for the Australian contingent.
