star sports just showed a zoom in and it looks more grounded now.
It is good despite India not playing star sports are not letting it go.
A view from the other side wouldn't show Symonds' fingers under the ball, though so would appear grounded. From the other side, it's clear enough that his 3rd and pinkie fingers got under the ball. Not totally conclusive but I think there's enough to say it's a fair catch.

I find it hard to understand why they just dont change the rule for catches. IMO any catch that is taken, whether the fielder uses the ground as support 10 seconds after he has taken the catch, loses balance and steps over the rope or pulls a hershelle should still be out. Every time i look at Gibbs catch of Waugh in the 99 wc, i cringe at the logic behind how that is not considered a catch when absolutely everything required to pull off the catch was done right.

Good point regarding Herschelle, actually.

I think the rule is three seconds after you are in full control.

what i find irritating is how daryl harper raised his finger without reffering it to the third umpire or having a discussion with the square leg umpire.

Any clues?

A fine knock by Gilly comes to an end. Kudos.

Good bowling by the SL attack thus far, done well at every stage and kept a great batting line-up on a very good batting deck honest. I only hope that we can keep it up right to the 50 over mark, and hopefully chase something under 250. However, I do have a few doubts as to our batting line-up. Like last time against Aus, I fear another collapse.

Edit/ Our catching is making me >_< >_< >_<
Under 200 is my reckoning.

Geez, Mitchell Johnson's luck with slips catching continues. I swear he kicked a black cat through a mirrored ladder, so bad has his luck been. I also get the feeling he bowls quicker than everyone expects. He seems to really zip the ball through sometimes.

Yep, you can tell from the way hayden went for that catch that he was not expecting it.

Nice 50. I'm still going to say SL will win this in a nail biter towards the end.
