*Official* Bangladesh in Pakistan Thread

ok so Bangladesh lost by 1 wicket - so if you look at it another way they beat a sub strength / below par Pakistan, but could not get past Inzi!!!

another view could be that it is possibly a good thing that they did not win - can you imagine the reaction to Pakistan loosing at Home to give Bangladesh their first ever result in Test cricket!!!!!

Somebody has to be the first, so if it happened to Pakistan, I would simply say "Get over it!"

The poms are going to do more then lose a match to Bangladesh, they'll lose the series! Seriously you have no chance.8D
I wouldn't go that far at all.

For a start I expect to see England fielding a first choice team to get used to the conditions ahead of the Sri Lanka tour.

Also, England are a better side than Pakistan.

You say that with a lot of confidence Marc..personally apart from Australia I don't think any other test playing nation ranked 2 - 8 can claim to be better than the other at this point in time.

It's nowhere near that jumbled in Test Cricket. In ODI's maybe, but there's a definite order beginning to define itself...

Full-strength Pakistan would run us close but with the side that beat Bangladesh, we shouldn't worry.

And Latif deserves every one of those ODIs he misses, the cheat.

*good luck - what constitutes a 'full strength pakistan' these days??????

*yep - a mistake can be forgiven, but if it's deliberate & you get caught then you takes your medicine - it's called cheating not gamesmanship!

Nepotism Alert!

President of the Pakistan CB is Lt General Tauqir Zia.

His little boy, Junaid Zia, made his Pakistan debut today in their mauling of a Bashar-less Bangladesh - picked rather than Yasir Ali, who turned in a competent display in the third test.

Junaid's heroic analysis of 7-0-35-0 (1nb, 5w) helped the Bangladeshi middle and lower order gain respectability with 186 all out after being 52/5 and 100/7, pushing his List A bowling average just above 50, with 17 wickets in 24 games. Still, it improved his economy rate which now stands at a miserly 5.2 rpo.

Now, Aamir Sohail (chairman of selectors), if you're trying to tell me that his dad had nothing at all to do with that, and expecting me to believe it, then I have lost all respect for you...

I said the same when Alec Stewart first got picked for England - Micky was still manager at the time.

Give the guy a chance for a couple of games - then pan the hell out of Zia.

The fact that he (Zia) averages over 50 now in List A games tells me that he got more than a helping hand into the international side.

Pakistan cricket is still corrupted...

What do you mean by STILL corrupted? it sound like if these kind of things have been going on since some time.Atleast in the last 20 years there haven't been incidents of nepotism in Pak cricket.

Junaid Zia was indeed selected purely coz of his dad, his domestic cricket record is ordinary, then his performance against SA juniors wasn't much impressive either.Fahad Masood was the most successful bowler in the SA series yet Zia was preffered to play against Bang.A former Pak cricketer, Intekham Alam' has righly said that he can name atleast 20 young fast bowlers in Pak that are much better than PCB's boss son!

Tauqir Zia and Aamir Sohail have set a shameful example of nepotism, i guess the reason they allowed Shoaib Akhter to skip the Bang series was because they wanted to accomodate Mr Junaid Zia in the senior team.

If this is true its a bloody shame !!! I am very interested if this Generals son will cntinue to be selected for pakistan tours after the Bangladesh series ...... If so i am sure as cricket fans/ pakistan citizens/ Icc should be able to do something .... iam not sure what though. It kills me to think that their is maybe another Wasim or Waqar dejected contamplating closing the door on cricket because of some Bafoon-General ....:!(
