the Natwest series i goin to be so boring & one-sided if i had the option i would cancel it
it is obvious who will make the final, and if both teams play as they did in the ICC trophy, it would be a good match, as would be the natwest challenge

First match starts tomorrow against a combined British Universities side. I hope Bangladesh adapt to the conditions quickly and improve rapidly throughout the warm-up matches to provide a decent test for England. Mohammad Ashraful may surprise a few people.

The first Bangladesh wicket of the season has gone down: Nafees Iqbal lbw b Read 24

Meanwhile, Javed Omar is on course for a solid 50 (currently 49*).

Oh dear. If Chris Read is trapping blokes in front, its not a good sign for a competitive test series, is it? :p

Omar looks to have found some form, Nafis supported him well, Shahriar was nervous, Bashar batted recklessly, Ashraful seems to be at ease yet cautious.

Not bad if it were a game against decent opposition, but the University side make Worcestershire look like Australia.

Well the University side is stronger then your averages FC side in Bangladesh and probably stronger then the Zimbabwe side they played in the last Test Series, so it is a good performance for them aganist, better players then they usually face.

Nope. British universities would get slaughtered by Barisal, still, promising start for Javed.

It took several hours to decide about Ashrafuls' century!!!!

"Bangladesh's Mohammad Ashraful had to wait several hours before getting the century he felt he deserved against a British Universities side at Fenner's.

Ashraful was given out for 99 after a 139-ball innings featuring 18 fours.

But, having been on 87 overnight, he was convinced he had scored 15 further runs before being caught at fine leg.

And eventually the correct score of 102 was attributed to the batsman, who was the second best individual scorer in an excellent team total of 381."

The farce surrounding Ashraful's score was only resolved in mid-afternoon when it was discovered the scorers had missed a three hit by the batsman through mid-on.

Both the scoreboard operator and batsman himself recalled the missing stroke and the totals were then adjusted accordingly after discussions with umpires John Holder and Tim Robinson.

Shahadat Hossain takes three quick wickets.

Very good to see. It will be very interesting to see how he goes in the test series.

Hmm i'm not sure if he will get a game, looking at the form of Murali, Giles and Warne so far in county cricket it looks like the pitches are taking spin, so they may two spinners. But if they play three quicks then he will be in for sure.
