I didn't even notice yesterday that Queensland won the toss and elected to bowl. Obviously a different WACA wicket to what we've been seeing.

Maybe. Langer did win the toss and bowl against Tasmania. His bowlers had early chances, which weren't taken by the fieldsman. Perhaps it is a pitch that is hard to get set, but once you are the runs are there for the taking.

Hayden on fire!

Over 37.3: SIX! Hayden hits Magoffin straight back over his head into the sight screen!
Over 37.4: FOUR! Bang! Smashed straight back past the stumps by Hayden, don't bother running.

He moves to 76*, Love 21*. QLD 1/125.

He's out now, good tune up knock before the Ashes
Yeah. Hayden out :(

Over 38.6: WICKET! Hogg strikes, Hayden trying his trademark sweep shot, is hit on the foot and trapped LBW. Probably too full to sweep there, and a valuable wicket for WA just as a big Hayden score was looking ominous.

Watson in now. He'll be looking for a big score.

hahaha, Steve Magoffin, showing his true class

Hope watson scores big, so that he's not going into the test after a diabolical batting performance.

ha Watson out now, but don't think a failure hear should have much bearing on his selection for the 1st test, his performances in the ODI side should be the base on if he's selected.

Here comes QLDs collapse:

Over 40.2: WICKET! Watson plays forward to Hogg, thick inside edge and Chris Rogers takes a magnificent one handed reflex catch inches off the ground! Hogg making a difference for WA, Queensland are 3/125.

Over 41.5: WICKET! Edmonson gets in on the action, had Symonds play and miss a couple times and then found the outside edge, simple take for Gilchrist. WA with the momentum, this is shaping into an interesting contest. Queensland 4/128.

Hopefully Martin Love can hang on for a big score. QLDs most consistent batsman joins him at the crease.

Jimmy Maher's probably just got back from the pub last night:

2006-11-13 15:24 Break in play here as an alarm of some sort has gone off, confusion in the middle and up here in the media box, we just hope our lunch hasn't been burnt!

Probably went to the wrong room...

Haha, nah that'd be Symonds if it was just morning when he got back. No wonder he only made 3 :p

Love doing the job for QLD. He is repaying the faith that the selectors and team management have in him. It would have been tempting for the selectors to drop him given his recent poor form. No doubting he's a top class batsman who pulls out the runs when the team really needs them.

Love 58*, Perren 17* QLD 4/186 and nudging towards first innings points. Hopefully they can build a big lead and win by an innings or have a small total to chase. Plenty of time left to get an outright result in this game.

Clark has picked 2 wkts thats going to give the selectors more headaches !
Don't really think so. I think he was going to be selected. A poor performance from Clark would have given them more headaches.

Love in vintage touch, he's now 71*. QLD 9 runs away from their first points of the season.

Haha yeah that was pointed out back when the 434 chase occurred.

Surely that guy (I thought it was 2 guys) has planned an assasination of Mick Lewis?
I dunno. I didn't see the game, but from what I heard it wouldn't have mattered where anyone bowled. The sheer size of the ground is just rediculous for international cricket, and also, they will always target the most inexperienced bowler.

Won't play for Australia again, that's for sure. There's bad blood between Lewis and Ponting anyway.

Great innings! Didn't worry about the nervous 90s, going from 87 to 100 with 4,4,4,1.

Love'in it! (That one's for you Clapo!)

I can't beleive Tasmania lost that OD game against Victoria, pretty pathetic display really. Great to see Mitchell Johnson bowling well against Western Australia, getting the two big wickets of Hussey and Martyn. Symonds will also be happy with how his bowling went. Hayden amongst the runs but sadly Shane Watson not, he'll need wickets in the second innings and some runs if he wants to push for a spot at the Gabba, otherwise Australia could go back to Michael Clark who struck a tidy 50 against England.

QLD go to tea witha 96 run lead on the first innings at 5/304, Love is 142*.

South Australia have dropped Manou for Deitz for the tour game against England.Redbacks axe vice-captain

Ponting will also lead Tasmania in a FC game for the first time since the dinosaurs were extinct.
