Fairly impressive showing from the Queensland bowlers so far, if the conditions are anything like they have been. Quality batting lineup, and one more wicket will get them through the top order entirely.

Johnson's got a wicket and Watson's kept it tight too, which is a good sign for the national side. Hopefully Martyn and Gilchrist can get some time in the middle as well.

Mick Lewis on a hat-trick. Tassie unlikely to win now at 6/113.

EDIT: Watson has bowled 5 straight maidens with Gilchrist and a set Martyn at the crease.

No. Hopefully not.
I can't understand how someone could rather their state won a Pura Cup match than see international regulars play themselves into good form. I support NSW in the sense that I live here and I'd rather they won than lost, but I'd much rather see Watson and Johnson do well against NSW than have Greg Mail win the match for us.

What? You can't be serious!

I guess it makes sense considering you didn't grow up watching your state get pounded day in day out. I'm more passionate about my state winning than my country.

QLD have no points for their Pura Cup season thus far. An outright here, particularly against a full strength W.A. it will be a big boost to our season. A wicket here will see Qld into W.A. lower order with less than 200 on the board, it will set the match up for us perfectly.

EDIT: Symonds picks up his 3rd wicket; Gilchrist caught behind for 6. We're a big chance here. :D

Great spell from Symonds, and Watson supporting nicely with 5 maidens in a row. Gilchrist out.

One can only assume the ball is doing something over there. I can't imagine otherwise why Martyn and Gilchrist would be having such a tough time scoring. Symonds isn't the most threatening bowler on a road, after all.

Yeah, I really don't care about that sort of thing. I like to see young players who have the potential to perform for Australia do well, or players I enjoy watching. Guys like Tait, Henriques, Johnson, Hilfenhaus, Paine and Birt interest me at the moment, and I follow their progress pretty keenly in domestic matches. As far as NSW goes, I'll support them if I'm watching a game, but I really don't care if they win or come last, provided that they have some worthwhile players who are performing along the way.

Perth isn`t actually that bad to bowl on, and from what I`ve seen from the match, Symonds is getting some pace and bounce from the wicket.

International Regular
Tasmania in all sorts of trouble. Lewis, Moss, Denton and McKay all dominating with the ball at the moment. Beautiful run out by McKay off his own bowling to dismiss Marsh.

The figures of Jon Moss are exceptional.

Rain falling at the moment, could see the game decided under D/L.

It's not that I don't want to see the young players do well (except for the over-rated ones, with poor records), it's just I don't want to see them do well against QLD. Anyway, Martyn and Gilchrist are by far young up-and-comers.

Josh

International Regular
Geeves run out impressively by Moss to keeper Crosthwaite. This baby's all but over. Vics looking for the bonus point.

Josh

International Regular
Victoria win + bonus point. Tasmania all out 145; shambles of an innings on both accounts. Credit to the bowlers of both teams. It was a reasonable batting track.

Good job, Vics!!

International Debutant
great stuff vics...i think the slowness of the wicket done both the batting sides...

Gilly gone cheaply too :( and also Marto and Langer!!
oh and Hussey failed too but didn't do too bad

all of the test batsmen failed :(
