I'm on the other side. Whilst signing him for just the final is ****, I think having internationals can only help our youngsters longer term. Young bowlers are only going to benefit when bowling to Younis Khan instead of Cosgrove or Borgas, whilst younger batsman can also only benefit from facing the likes of Umar Gul instead of Paul Davis.Disagree with this whole concept of signing internationals, it's only going to weaken our domestic system. Valuable experience will be denied to the some promising youngster, and the 'experience' that a lot of these internationals bring won't be able to match that.
I mean, it's probably one factor contributing to the downfall of the English system.
Pick on the Redbacks why don't ya.I'm on the other side. Whilst signing him for just the final is ****, I think having internationals can only help our youngsters longer term. So long as we don't go overboard (which is unlikely without Kolpaks), internationals can only be good for our domestic game.
This is idiotic indeed, what the hell are the idiots at NSW thinking, this is of course poor form, and tbh it really not like they need a guy like McCullum for the Champions leauge, because there full strength side is already so awesome, though Symmo isn't usually too good with words, i think he summed this up pretty well,"That's not Australian to me. Is that what New South Wales cricket is having to do? I am trying to understand the modern world."Interestingly it now makes him eligible for the Champions League should his IPL side not make it. I wonder if they'd actually pick him and also Haddin for that?
Yeah internationals are good for the domestic scene, because they can share their knowledge of the game with the young members of their side and these younger blokes stand to learn a lot from these international players, but certainly McCullum's signing has taken place purely keeping the commercial side of things in minds, its so lame to sign him after you are assured of a CL T20 spot, i hope CA steps into this and stops this from happening, because its just not fair on the other teams imo.I'm on the other side.
