Well, I dragged myself to the game and kinda wishing I hadn't. Man, that was depressing to watch. If the SA batsmen weren't getting out, they were missing big airy swats. Cosgrove was particularly awful to watch. Xav Doherty was really good, the ball which he got Christian with was a classic. Aside from that, the Tassie bowlers only had to bowl accurately and watch the SA batsmen get themselves out. When Dan Marsh goes for less than 4 per over.......

Paine was really good, batted so well. Hopefully he'll go onto better things. Decent hitter. George Bailey looked solid for his stay too I reckon, looks class.

Is Xavier Doherty any good? Has a decent record in OD cricket, better than the likes of Cullen Bailey and Dan Cullen, yet I've never heard him being talked about as a potential ODI spinner in the future. His last couple of seasons have been fairly good too.

He isn't that far below Bailey, Cullen, Heal and Hauritz. But he lacks any x factor to be considered really. Mind you neither of the above four have great deal of x factor anyway. Just a bit too plain as bowler to be considered, good on the Hobart track, as you just need a solid spinner.

Doesn't get enough happening with the ball to be a real wicket taking option in four day cricket. Does vary his pace well though, and can be very hard to get under and hit over the top. Smart cricketer.

His First Class record isn't much to look at, but that can be said for most young spinners in Australia at the moment. I was more thinking along the line of ODI cricket, is he much of a chance to play when Hogg finally calls it quits?

Probably if they take batting into account. About on par with Hauritz with the bat.

He ripped the ball past Christian tonight and I've seen him turn a few in matches I've seen him in whereas previously, what I saw was a bloke who was tight but was a bit of a floater. Have you observed much of a difference in his bowling of late?

Haven't been able to watch him this season due to no Foxtel. And those Tassie games I have watched, he hasn't been playing.

Yeah, Maher has got to go.

And yeah, Cullen is a self-promoter - like Hodgey and MacGilla.

This WA v Qld match is shaping up nicely for a good finish - about another 180 needed off 35 overs max. Should be interesting.

Dan has bowled pretty well in the One Day stuff this season. I don't like his chances of a Test recall, but he's the second leading wicket taker in the Ford Ranger Cup so he's done pretty well there.

Henriques playing FC cricket, don't care if we lose this match. Khawaja making his debut as well, looks like they are trying to blood him into the opening spot in ODs hopefully.

FFS I know QLD were chasing the double bonus points, but 111 off 17,5 overs looks shocking when chasing 242 in 50!

Yeah, but at least it gave me a chance to see Noffke hit one of the biggest 6s I've ever seen. What a clean hit it was.

So gutted that Mosies couldn't get a 50 and carry the Blues to first innings points. The pitch looks like it turning a bit. Hopefully Casson can make the most of it and take some quick wickets, to give us a chance at outright. Usman looks decent as well, hopefully he does well as List A opener.
