Gotta get on the NSW bandwagon as well. Easily the best bowling attack in the country. No one else really looks that scary. Queensland's attack is getting on a little bit, I expect Bichel to slowly fade away.

South Australia might be a dark horse though, if Dizzy can find form and stay away from the test squad for a while, and Tait doesn't get selected they'll be a force.

WA all the way.

Especially if Martyn doesn't get selected much, Hussey, Langer, Martyn, Goodwin et all.

Strong batting line up.

WA are alright but who's going to do the damage with the ball for em. Can't see Willo doing too much... How is he going anyway these days. he's kinda been forgotten about.

Yes you would think Casson would fixture away from the WACA as well this season, but still doesn't provide them with a very scary bowling attack for the other states.

Please....Bichel will still be taking 60+ wickets a season at age 90.

Williams, Inness, Dorey, Macgoffin and Hogg looks ok, nothing scary but solid
Agreed. Its nothing special, but with the batting line up, its a solid team.

it's gotta end some time mate. he's just getting old and it's taking a toll on his body mate. he'll start slowing down and he's not really a "champion" bowler. he own't know how to get batsman out

I think I've said this somewhere else before, but I wouldn't be surprised if he moves to the Blues.

LOL @ you N.S.Welshmen.

If Bichel isn't the definition of a champion bowler then we've never seen one in the history of cricket.

He may not have the prettiness of a Brett Lee or the metronome of a McGrath, but he's been doing it for years. He won't do it forever but I think if Qld win the Pura Cup this year he'll throw the baggy maroon on mantlepiece and sit back and know he gave it everything he could.

Hmm with Kjeza coming through, plus the other spin bowling all rounders in O'Brien, Burke, Bright and one other guys who name i can't remember (he made the Australia U19 tour last year) also around the scene it wouldn't be a great move. If a spinner was going to move states it would be to Queensland or Victoria if White gets a long run in the ODI side.

But in saying that MacGill made it past Greg Mattews, Gavin Robinson and John Davison, who were all rated as high, if not higher, so if he is good enough to back himself then it could be a good move.

Also can anyone tell me about Lachlan Stevens, he has been selected at 8 in the QLD pura cup squad ahead of Johnson which is surprising. From memory Stevens is a batsman/batting all-rounder, his bowling must of really improved if he is getting selected above Johnson as i cant imagine the QLD selectors would pick a batsman at 8.

Qld are running with a pretty bizarre bowling line up. Symonds, Hopes, Simpson, Stevens??, Bichel and Kaspa. Pretty spin heavy IMO.

Anyway interested to see what people think of Stevens as i know very little about him.

Since when was two spinners spin heavy??

Lachlan Stevens is generally a opening batsmen that bowls medium pace. It looks like his in the squad as Shane Watson replacement, effectively. Also just cus Johnson has a 12 next to his name doesn't mean his 12th man. Probably either Simpson or Stevens will be given the drinks duty.

EDIT: Just read futher on, they will use super subs, so one of those two are likely to be super. It should be intereesting to see who NSW play as the super sub, my guess would be Aaron O'Brien. Gives as backup with that bat and bowl, so he will still be effective if we win the toss or loss it and bat first.

Oops, thought Stevens was a spinner, makes more sense if he is a medium pacer. Stevens is only named in the Pura cup squad where there is no super sub.

For Qld super sub will probably be between Nash and Simpson.
