I really hope he does well, should be in the test squad ahead of Symonds
Yeah, it's scary to think that a guy (Symonds) - who has played seven Tests and therefore had ample opportunity - can average 16 with the bat, have one score over 25, and still be number six for Australia. I don't think he should be touring South Africa with the Test team at all.

Watson Picked For Queensland

QUEENSLAND and Australia all rounder Shane Watson will return from injury when the Bulls play Victoria in an ING Cup match at the Gabba on Wednesday.

Watson, 24, was named today to play for the Bulls as a batsman after spending more than two months on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury sustained in the first Test of the summer against West Indies.
Test opener Matthew Hayden is also set to return to the side after recovering from a chest infection.
Watson's domestic comeback boosts his chance of being selected for the Test and one-day squads for the coming tour of South Africa.
Bulls selectors will finalise a 12-man team later today.
What site did you get this from?

As if. Harvey was pathetic in all departments. How he got the tag as a 'closer' is beyond me, he must have had more sixes hit off him in the last 10 overs than any other bowler in ODI history.
He was a bloody good player, I can tell you that.

Nah Watson is overrated. Symonds is the man for the job.

No, Symonds isn't the man for the "all-rounder" job. But I do agree, Watson hasn't lived up to the hype surrounding him. I'd take him over Symonds in the Test side any day though.

Ah, gotcha. Not sure then, but he'll probably play.
Yeh he's a chance of touring. Probably all rests on his performance replacing the skipper.

you sure about that?, i dont think he was that bad, his batting yea didn't do much at all but his bowling was decent IMO.
Harvey's record was far from decent. 85 wickets from 73 matches, that's barely a wicket per match at an average of 30 and a strike rate of almost 5 (4.71).

Wow! That's one hell of a strike rate!

Geez, going at 4.7 an over when he's probably bowled at least a quarter of his overs at the death.

Disgraceful.
The average is the main worry. Bowling a quarter of his overs at the death, he should have picked up more wickets really.

I agree. And considering his strike rate which is 30 and he managed roughly only one wicket per game meant he was only bowling 6 or 7 overs a game and likely getting hit out of the attack before the 50 overs was up.
