Cosgrove currently 61* off 62, SA 2/111 off 24.3

Given that he bowled 11 wides and two no balls, and that 3 of his wickets were numbers 8, 9 and 10, it hardly deserves the selector's attention.aussie said:Cosgrove is unstoppable of late & good to see Tait back in the wickets hope the selectors are watching.
Not just the weight. He was suspended because he gained 4kg in England AND that he couldn't make the fitness targets in terms of beep tests, etc. The fitness was the big issue (so to speak); it's not a crime to be heavy if you can keep up with the team in fitnes drills (Lehmann, for example). But when you're huffing and puffing on runs, it calls into question your ability to play long innings'. In reality, he's about the same weight as he was when he left for England but his fitness is vastly improved.Haha, is it true that SA suspended Cosgrove because he was overweight?
lol , but seriosuly the fact that he is getting wickets at least is good.andyc said:Given that he bowled 11 wides and two no balls, and that 3 of his wickets were numbers 8, 9 and 10, it hardly deserves the selector's attention.
I find it odd that a rugby league forum with 4,417 members had three pages of discussion on that match, but a cricket forum with 6,608 members didnt have a post on the match at all until the morning before Day 2...Mister Wright said:After seemingly being out of contention early in the season the Bulls are now a big contender for the Pura Cup final, they demolished NSW on the opening day and already have first innings points. NSW out for 169 and Watson taking 4 wickets, unfortunately Watson didn't do anything with the bat, but Hayden and Love ensured Qld ended day one in a great position 8 runs ahead with 7 wickets in hand and a long batting order.
Victoria drew equal with SA and NSW with first innings points against SA with a lead of 3 runs and 9 wickets in hand they should also get an outright.
Kaspa & Bichel - too old. no chance.chaminda_00 said:so none of these guys have made a claim for selections:
Brett Dorey - 26 wkts @ 23
Paul Rofe - 25 wkts @ 24
Allan Wise - 23 wktc @ 25
Add to that two other oldies:
Kaspa - 28 wkts @ 23
Bichel - 28 wkts @ 25
i hope he goes for me i hope somehow Tait gets the nod over Bracken in the test side as well, since currently the best 4 quicks for the text side would be McGrath, Lee, Gillespie & Tait.howardj said:Gillespie and Bailey have continued their stellar form for South Australia, in their match against Victoria at the Adelaide Oval. Gillespie took 4/50. He now has 25 wickets @20 in the Pura Cup this year. Be great if he could jag a Test tour to South Africa. He's still only 30, and has only been dropped from the Test team once in his career. With McGrath always a chance of getting injured, he'd be a good back-up, along with Lee and Bracken, for the three Test matches over there. There are not, in my view, too many other quicks who have made a case for selection.
You could also say Gillespie is too old...howardj said:Kaspa & Bichel - too old. no chance.
Rofe & Wise - unfashionable, therefore no chance.
Dorey - hasn't impressed at International level, thus far.
Being realistic.
But he's younger than Kasprowicz and Bichel.chaminda_00 said:You could also say Gillespie is too old...
No way - Warne has to be in that.aussie said:i hope he goes for me i hope somehow Tait gets the nod over Bracken in the test side as well, since currently the best 4 quicks for the text side would be McGrath, Lee, Gillespie & Tait.
No way is Tait one of the four best quick bowlers in Australia. You've got McGrath, Lee, Gillespie, Kasprowicz, Bracken, and I'd still rate Bichel more.aussie said:i hope he goes for me i hope somehow Tait gets the nod over Bracken in the test side as well, since currently the best 4 quicks for the text side would be McGrath, Lee, Gillespie & Tait.
well we are looking towards the future so obviosuly the 2 big queensland veterans have to be discounted. So you Tait would make up the best 4 right now, since i would rather him in the test side instead of Bracken, not that Bracken has done badly he has impoved a bit but for me Tait would be better in the test side.andyc said:No way is Tait one of the four best quick bowlers in Australia. Speaking of Tait, how the hell did he score 50* off 41 balls against Victoria!?
