Maybe they are, maybe they aren't - who knows.
What nonsense, they are playing for team India not for their "form". The situation now demands they attack and be aggressive and so that is what they should be looking to do.

Sharma has 3 doubles FFS and Dhawan can go berserk too. Rahul and Kohli are pretty good at it too. Don't expect Maxwell to do much better than them.

playing for their form is playing for team India. You are talking as if we already in the 40th over.

My point is, how exactly are they not in "form" with half centuries? Secondly "form" is overrated. Dhawan's form was at an all time low before 2015 WC and he killed it. Dhawan is a clutch player in ICC ODI events incase ppl have forgotten. In the WC you will meet teams who will attack around this time (Windies, England). We have the talent to have people come in and keep the pressure on the bowling side by looking to be aggressive from ball one.

India are in almost exactly the same position as Aus was in the last game, but you just know that they're going to get waaaaaaaaay more than 312 from here.

The problem is, England and WI have many hitters. India has only one, Pandya and he is not playing here. Pant and Rahul have not proved anything in ODIs. Not fully convinced about Jadhav either as a pure hitter, though he is a good batsman.

Having said that, Rohit is gone now, so we will see how it goes.

You won't know until you ask to take that approach and give them that confidence to play that way without worrying about getting out. Which is why I've been arguing for not having Rayadu in the playing 11 since long. All these ODI's in NZ and against AUS have been India just trying a whole bunch of options at various points which obviously suggests a confusion as to exactly what kind of approach and players they need to have in their side.

Excellent knock from Dhawan, both openers played well today. Would definitely rather Rohit had carried on out of these two though, knowing how he can accelerate in the latter half of the innings.

Well played Dhawan, was never any doubt he should be in the WC squad, his record in ICC ODI events is spectacular.

Agreed that Rayudu should not have been anywhere close to the team. Rahul is a reluctant #4 though which will not help to get the best out of him.

So happy to finally see us try Rahul at 3. He won't have much choice but to go for it pretty soon though. We wasted so many ODIs giving Rayudu a try.
