Think about it, it is very simple to deduce. Less luck and power. Much more skill. Take Jayasuriya as an example of this..:Page_master said:if gilchrist only has 20% skill 80% luck what does everyone else have....
Ohh come on this is the biggest load of **** I have ever heard!!LankanPrince said:Very true your point about Gilchrist. I have seen he is almost hopeless when batting against Wasim Akram. He ends up hitting with the left armer's natural angle and spooning the ball in the air. I believe Gilchrist's batting technique is built around about 20% skill and 80% luck. I hate the way he can bat so wrecklessly and still maintain his healthy ODI average of 36. Wrecklessness is the name of the game for the worlds greatest wicketkeeper batsman, Romesh Kaluwitharana ( ) but his average is only 22. Maybe Gilchrist has more power. However he really does bat like a blind man against left handers. The fool tries slogging left handers like playing a right handed bowler and gets out. His arrogance really is something amazing because his technique is rubbish. He may have succeeded but compared to someone like Matthew Hayden who can back up his arrogance with a brilliant technique he is nothing. Australia should forget Gilchrist, how many chances do you want to give him? Axe this joker, replace him with a specialist wicket keeper and play Langer as the opener. That is my advice for Australia. Listen to me and your team will be technically superior (not to mention doomed to failure!).
Well I thought that they would have a great record, just look at those averages. It's not like they have a lack of parternships together or an abnormal amount of not outs, so that is absolutely fantastic. I think they are both versatile players and as such if one is moved, the other should be moved accordingly to try and keep them together. Those numbers are very, very favourable.age_master said:Symonds and Clarke Partnerships

Yes he does not like left arm bowlers but he is not hopeless against them.
He has taken Vass apart once or twice or though Vass has his wicket on quite a few occasions. He has also played some very good innings against Akram note his 149* and his fifty in the 1999 WC Final as examples.
I am not saying he is anything special against lef arm bowlers it's a known fact he does not like them as much but he is still more than capable of playing them as well as anyone on his day.
In recent times left arm bowlers like Zaheer khan, Nehra and Irfan Pathan have not troubeld Gilly very much at all.

but i think every team in the world would love to have a player like Gilchrist if they couldtooextracool said:gilchrist is not hopeless against left arm seamers.....hes hopeless on slow tracks where the ball doesnt quite hit the bat. his inability to play quality spin bowling is also a major problem. if u look at his record in the sub continent u will see my point clearly and im pretty sure he'll fail in pretty much every test match in the series(and im sure all the gilly fans will blame it on lack of form). as far as being the greatest wicket keeper batsman goes- nobody can beat andy flower!!
He's hardly in the best himself yet!Ferd said:I also think one of Clarke's assets is Bevan's current lack of form...:P
I'll hail anyone that gets run out so stupidly, it had me in stiches. Ahhh good entertainment.Linda said:I don't like to rave on but... HAIL THE GREAT MAN, MARTYN!
Battered by him, no my friend get your facts right. He scored 66 in the first ODI and then a couple of 0s in the following matches. This is hardly a battering, maybe by Hayden, Ponting, Symonds but definitely not your boy Gilchrist. Australia have won against Sri Lanka in 2 of the matches but they haven't been walkovers, just remember that Mr. Inflated Balloon Head! Your arrogance is starting to show my friend!aussiefan said:Lankan prince
yes you can say that and give some consolition to your self. It is the most u can do in situation like these when your team is being battered by him.
Thankfully Neil is here to calm down some of the annoyed children who get carried away on this forum. You are doing a great job!Neil Pickup said:He's taking the mick and succeeding!
Look at the last sentence - "if you listen to me your team will be doomed to failure".
Just like Torquay fans, throw any little scraps out and they grab at them ravenously
