**Official** Australia in Sri Lanka

Supposedly Murali is worried that the Aussies are starting to pick him, in particular the Doos'ra (spelling). Ponting too says they aren't having too much trouble, simply because of the line that the ball is bowled.

Having thought about it (though not a great deal), I think Murali should be alright with the Doos'ra against the left handers, while if he were to go around the wicket to the right handers to bowl it it should also help somewhat. I think the line wouldn't be as obvious to the batsman. At least this keeps the Doos'ra in his repertoire as opposed to having to swap it for the one that skids straight on only. Keep as many tricks up his sleeves as possible.

Sound like an idea to get it working?

Gilchrist walks.
and i aplaud him for that.

Just read his book about ashes and world cup, he said he believes in his decision in the world cup, and would walk again. he has just proven that statement correct.

Good on him, only showing sportsmanship

1. I think Bevan should be the last of the recognized batsmen when Australia are setting a target. When they are chasing he can be moved up but surely it's better for him to just drag them up to a consolidated score if that's a need rather than perhaps leaving yourself a bit short?

2. Well, if Bevan is ahead of Clarke, then that makes Clarke a designated hitter for this innings. Don't read too much into a possible lowish score people :P (just nipping it in the bud).

Shot Clarkey! Charges Murali, smashed over cow corner for 4. Great footwork. Clarke already well in front of Bevan.

Edit: And will remain that way. Bevo C&B Murali. Bye bye Bevo (not just for this innings ;))

What the hell is Beven doing 9 off 26!

These days he is batting slower and slower when setting totals.

He is still the best guiy to have in run chase but he does not seem his old self these days.

Clark is allready 15 of 11 just played a butiful lofted drive of murili took him for 10 off the over.

I must say Ponting looked very good today he has made a fifty in every game so far he would be disapointed in not getting a ton.

Beven's out BTW 14 form 35.

he is really not himslef ATM.

Harvey run out again batting with Clarke. Clarke doesn't run everyone out so I'm gonna say Harvey has some running issues. I noticed this a few balls previous when Clarke was ripping him up running up and down the pitch. Clarke was ready for the quick single then, Harvey was slow to move, slow down the pitch, lack of effort to get home, run out.

Hogg out too. What is it with this guy and golden ducks?

Jee, Harvey must just love running with Clarke.....

And as we speak, Hogg LBW 0.

Thanks Clarkey

hmm 4 wickets in two overs.

I hope Clark has a dash it's probably our only chance of a decent score.

Still Gillespie is a bum to get out so you never know.

Like I said, Clarke doesn't run everyone out. Harvey should be sharper, and obviously he isn't up to scratch.

I think you mean thanks Bevo. It was actually him getting out that started the collapse.

Just out of curiosity Andre, had you seen Harvey's running before he was runout? You could see it coming a mile away. :)

And our Clarkey commits the cardinal sin of failing to bat out the remainder of the innings, playing a dumb shot and duly rewarded with the dismissal.

The guy's gonna be excellent in a few years, but jee, his inexperiance has shown painfully here today. Gillespie would have batted it out with him. If Australia end up a few runs short....

too true, Too true. Gillespie for sure would of stuck in with him and held up his end.

Clarke will be a dominant force in Aus's batting in the near future tho :)
