Does this match make up for the '92,'99 and '03 WC exits together for SA fans?
Nope, but it consoles those losses a little bit.

BTW, I have been a RSA fan for long. Perhaps not of this particular side, but in the early and late 90s, they were my favourite team...

I will take your word for it, you seem to know what your talking about when It comes to stupidity.

The way you a trawling back over the pages searching for some slight statement that can be used at a much later point in time to provide yourself with satisifaction is not only sad but a sign of an deep-seated psychological problem. I wish you all the best with that. :)

Apparently somone said the world was flat, go pay him out it seems to do it for you.
I hate getting into personal debates here. Almost all of your posts were bursting with a little too much of patriotism and little too little of facts. If you are accusing Smith of being arrogant, so is Ponting. Perhaps not at the same scale, but really, he is just as arrogant too. And as for the rest of it, yes, I am enjoying the win of a side that I absolutely LOVED back in the 90s.... Something wrong with that?

And by the way, going to cry about **** Australian selectors and **** Mick Lewis suggests a deeper psychological problem to me. Good luck with that. :)

Do I sense some anger bharani ??
Why are you getting so worked up about it ? Its only a game after all.
You seem to have some unresolved anger issues.
Has australia caused you mental scars in the past ??
Who is going to be your favourite team this year ???

Highlight of an otherwise dull match, I guess?
Martyn made a weak attempt at a dive that was described as "the Sydney Harbour Bridge"...

that was reasonably entertaining as well :p

Though Mick lewis bowling was not in the spirit of cricket either, unless your a south african, or on this forum support any side that australia has spanked in recent times.
Nah, not just the teams that Australia have spanked, but those that they have lost to as well. The English and Bangladeshi fans joined in too

You realise people are only doing this because of the reaction you're giving them? Andyc and Faaip made silly comments too, but they took it as fun.

Look guys, I have been a very big supporter of RSA back in the 90s. And it always bugged me to see how they lost the important games so freakishly. My mom was fuming during that 92 WC match when they changed the stupid target to 22 off 1. Then I watched them get Lara'd (and Adams'd and Arthurton'd) in the 96 WC. Then I saw them absolutely commit suicide in the 99 WC. I thought it couldn't get worse.

I was wrong. The 2003 WC thingy was so bad that even I was almost in tears (of sorrow for RSA fans and of rage on the team management)... And to see them win this game in this manner has been one of the most memorable cricket watching experiences for me. My and my two cousins (who are just as passionate about cricket) were almost in tears when Boucher hit the winning runs. My cousin actually made comments like "If RSA don't win this from here, I will stop believing in God.." I guess you should be able to forgive me being so ecstatic at the moment. I am not really a big supporter of the current RSA side, but still, this win gave me almost as much satisfaction as the Eden and Chennai tests in 2001 against Australia.

And I would like to add that what Ponting did was real classy. I don't really rate the guy much as a person (from what we see on TV only, obviously) or as a captain, but it was really commendable that he did the right thing and allowed Herschelle take the MOTM award.

You obviously haven't been on the forums long, or haven't taken anything in if you're having a go at honestbharani, one of the most respected forummers here. Seriously, the only thing you're accomplishing with your silly personal attacks is making yourself look like an idiot.

Lol, Honest joing in on the fun too. A little too late unfortunately, the peak period was last night. It was fun just quoting person after person. :p

I prefer to see myself and all those that quoted the various statements after the famous victory as a super hero, sort of like Batman. Just dishing out justice (in the form of egg on one's face) to ensure Gotham City (i.e CW) stays safe from criminals (posters kicking a team whilst they're down :p).

That being said, I think its time to let it go now. A fun 12 hours though :D

Lol too true.
Well, what can I do? It is tough to find cyber cafes that are open at 12 in the night and then there was the small matter of work.. ;)

Ruddy Norah! It was just a meaningless ODI man. If they win the test series yeah, jump from the roof tops.

Some SA friends told me the celebrations were bigger than the world cup win in 1995.. I find that hard to believe, but if so, wow..

As was the Natwest Final in England when India scored all those runs.. Even the English were celebrating that amazing game of cricket, so wheres the difference?

So every ODI that isn't in the world cup is meaningless?

Some SA fans were in tears. 8-) Okay, have a few beers but don't make high ****alorum, it's not like they won the World Cup ffs. Anyway, things will hopefully settle down soon.

Pretty much as far as I'm concerned, and even the WC isn't a patch on a great test series. People at the game will get excited sure, but tears??

But they won a series against Australia. That's unheard of for most teams lately. They also did so against some of the greatest odds the sport has seen. Let them have their moment.
