Had Tivoed the entire game (as it starts at 1:30 AM till 8:00 here in US), just watched the catch of AB De Villiers by Hogg, one word UN-REAL. Although IMO Katich's run out by AB De Villiers cannot be topped, tumbling with no angle to throw and yet throws a direct hit aiming at one stump. Thats was unbelievable.

I wonder who Australia will drop when Symonds is fit. Watson has the best average out of all the Australian bowlers this series and 4th on the batting averages to boot. Hogg has looked very ordinary on this tour, but he does provide the spin option. In saying that though, Clarke bowled before him in the last match, and Symonds who would be replacing him bowls spin as well. Dropping Martyn is another option but you dont really need THAT many bowling options.
well to be honest i think Australia would do well in these last 2 games to have as much bowling options as possible IMO. Its really though to think who would make way when Symo returns but i guess the front runners are Hogg & Martyn.

As much as I agree with those two, it honestly wouldnt shock me one bit if they dropped Clark or Watson.

well i dont think it would be wise to drop Clark, that would really make the bowling attack weak. Watson could be dropped yea, but his bowling & batting has been solid in the last 2 games & he will be though to drop.

Not significantly weaker than dropping Hogg though. Plus, its not like its a specialist batsman coming in either... Symonds can bowl. I guess it would only leave two specialists which is a bit light, especially considering one of them averages 56 with the ball this series.

GET RID OF KATICH NOWWWW...or even Martyn if he's going to keep on playing for himself.

I can't for the life of me understand why the hell Katich is selected to open the innings. It's so regressive of Australia's thinking. Why all of a sudden do we need a sheet anchor in the opening role?????

I would have thought that game against Sri Lanka in Sydney when we hit 360 after being 3-10 would have shown that a sheet anchor is unnecessary.

And how the hell can anyone say that Katich, a stodgy makeshift opener, can do a better job than Hayden?

To leave blokes like Hussey with 5 overs to face is absurd !!!!

Any of those attacking Australian batsmen can play the sheet anchor role if required.

Just pick 7 blazers and they'll do the job !

It dumbfounds me!

Get rid of Katich and get Watson to open. He is technically correct, can move the ball around the field while Gilly goes beserk and then keep going once his eye is in. He is much more suited up the order than down and slogging. This also gives the openers a right/left hand combination and we can play both Watson and Symonds and 4 bowlers.

Sounds good to us Mavric, but not to the Australian Selectors. Or even Martyn to open. I think Hogg will probably be dropped, but who knows.

The AB run-out was spectacular. He`s a great athlete. I thought Australia left it a little late to start hitting, but Lee fired and Watson looked handy, so all is well for the time being.

Looks like a top series, I really hope Australia win the next one.

Why would Hogg be dropped and who for?

Exactly. It`d be unfair to Hogg, but I don`t know who else I think they`ll drop.

has to be Watson...
Statistically he`s our best bowler and fourth best batsman this series.

Maybe

Katich
Gilchrist
Ponting
Martyn
Symonds
Clarke
Hussey
Watson
Hogg
Lee
Bracken

? Haha, batting anyone?
