Did the Cape Town lights come into it at all?

Only saw higlights of SA innings, and end of Australia innings. Pollock showed his experience with that boundary catch.

I withdraw my point about Peterson in another thread, he was terrible (again) today. IMO South Africa would be better off with an attack of five seamers, even on a spinning wicket.
Still better than Blackwell, mind.

Blackwell can keep it tight at times. Petersen, no.

So no. No he's not.

I don't think Peterson has ever been picked as a bowler only to get seven overs out of 136, though. 8/116, yes, but not 7/136. That's 33.99% more trustworthy.

Are the straws really worth it?
Blackwell wasn't at the disposal of Smith nor Peterson for Flintoff. It has more to do with the other four bowlers than the faith in Blackwell's ability.

Blackwell may be substandard, but he's better than Peterson.

How anyone can suggst that Blackwell is better than Peterson is beyond me, after our Blackwell-bashing session this morning.

Blackwell FC: 185w @ 43.39 @ 2.84rpo
Peterson FC: 172w @ 36.45 @ 3.08rpo

Blackwell OD: 136w @ 35.76 @ 4.87rpo
Peterson OD: 92w @ 30.42 @ 4.45rpo

Blackwell T20: 18w @ 26.33 @ 7.14rpo
Peterson T20: 20w @ 20.69 @ 6.50rpo

And I've watched both bowl today and Peterson's less rubbish.

And I've watched both bowl on more than one occasion and Blackwell is far less rubbish. Brian Lara would probably agree with me.

FC and OD stats are irrelevant because the domestic competitions are entirely different. ie County cricket = crap and SA cricket = South African.

Because Petersen really is that bad.

Wow, brilliant, indescribable..

Is the era of Aussie dominance over? We'll know after the test series I think.. Today was the first time ever that I actually thought South Africa would beat Australia at the start of the game..
Yep they should chuck in the towel right now shouldn't they? I mean who cares if SA got thrashed all summer here
