Interesting watching this - SA has bowled straight but the ball has done nothing.

One has to ask the question just how interested the Australians are because they certainly dont look it at all. Unhappiness in a team does strange things.

As for the era of Aus dominance being over - this is the same SA team that everyone slaughtered all summer. Something has changed and it's not the teams' respective abilities.

I could be wrong, but i feel next few years would be a golden period for cricket.

5 teams (Aus, Sa, Eng, Ind, Pak) all vying for the top spot with SL and NZ not far behind now we only need the Windies to pull up their socks.

Intresting times ahead for our sport and i am sure the next WC would be the most open and exciting tournament in years.

Also this is Newlands and the Australian's are batting under lights, the great Ashish Nehra once decimated England at this ground under lights. But credit to South African there have bowled very well.

Wow, brilliant, indescribable..

Is the era of Aussie dominance over? We'll know after the test series I think.. Today was the first time ever that I actually thought South Africa would beat Australia at the start of the game..

Absolutely.

Eng are probably best placed as others have greats retiring (McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist, Tendy, Kumble, Inzy) whilst they have good, solid team of relatively young players.

Never write Australia off while they have Hussey, the Bradman of the one day game, at the crease..

Just lost "Michael katich" 38 for 5, nice

Aus have problems in ODIs at present because of our bowling stocks and because were missing the world's best ODI batsman (Ponting), bowler (McGrath) and cricketer (Symonds)

Tests = Warne = Aus win

Tests vs SA are an entirely different matter

Katich gone, at least Watson is going to get a proper innings under his belt, that’s if he can survive Andre Nel.

Yea, the current England side playing against India are all under 30.

This is quite lovely.

I hope the West Indies are paying attention, because Australia are doing their best to flatter them it seems.

Game over, well done South Africa, fantastic bowling by Ntini, 6 for 22 and it beats Nehra's figures at Newlands.

Not just a hammering, seems like Australia were utterly and comprehensively outclassed.

Vaguely interesting that all of Australia's 'batsmen' were out caught, whereas 3 of SA's top 4 were out bowled.

Did the Cape Town lights come into it at all?

Only saw higlights of SA innings, and end of Australia innings. Pollock showed his experience with that boundary catch.

I withdraw my point about Peterson in another thread, he was terrible (again) today. IMO South Africa would be better off with an attack of five seamers, even on a spinning wicket.
