What a partnership. So steady, but they both lashed out when neccessary. When I saw Hussey out to Bodgee, all I could think was "JONO!!!!" :D

Hopefully Martyn can reach his ton, Australia can win, and I have time to study for my exams. :D

I don't think there's any hard and fast rule - I think the umpires have to agree that there is a reasonable chance of a result, taking everything into consideration.
Yeah...just looking at the Laws of Cricket, there isn't a provision for extending play at the end of the day so it must be entirely at the umpires discretion. The rule is in place for the extra half hour at tea if the team is 9 wickets down, so mayb the umpires go off that?

Gilchrist and Symonds are walking wickets of late. In his last 15 Test Matches, Gilchrist averages 22. It's a little more than just a form slump. His run of outs reminds me of the closing stages of Ian Healy's career - his glovework is still exceptional, but his batting is falling to pieces. As for Symonds, his position has become untenable. His batting is sub-standard, and even when one of the bowlers was injured (Kasprowicz in the second innings) Ponting only bowled him for five overs.

"We've got a Test match to win ... so if that means bowling short balls at him, so be it."
Mark Boucher asked about what would happen if Justin Langer, suffering from bad concussion after being struck on the head by Makhaya Ntini, came out to bat at Johannesburg.

I thought that was a bit cruel...but I guess it's fair enough.

It's Test cricket.

WRT to the point Jono talked about how earlier the Aussies gave Ntini a bit of lip after getting him out, and it probably about about him hitting Langer. He didn't even look twice at Langer, and deserves to be reminded of it.

Haha, my apologies. Was watching it at the pub, alternating our vision between the two screens showing the cricket and the footy. After seeing about 15,000 replays of him getting hit, I probably stopped watching the cricket when Ntini went up to him. :D

Lol fair enough. Ntini walked back to his mark like he usually does (after catching the ball that bounced off Langer's helmet... sickening how far it travelled) but after Langer was being helped by the medical staff and what not, and was being taken back to the pavillion Ntini ran all the way from his mark up to him and sort of tapped him and apologised, or whatever you want to call it.

Ntini seems too nice a guy to not do that IMO.

They were just showing the highlights of yesterdays play - showed Ponting going up and saying something that didn't look too pleasant to Ntini after he'd been dismissed (because it was change of innings, both teams were walking to the dressing rooms).

Do you guys reckon Langer will bat today? There's no doubt in my mind that he'll come in if Australia get to 9 down, and I'm hoping he'll come in after Lee's out. I hope Kasper can bat as well, otherwise we might be in some trouble.
