His earmarked the Bangladesh tour, as the place where he will get his test runs.

If I was him I would put my hand up to open both the batting and bowling, otherwise he may be lucky to get a turn with either.

Pollock gets warne for 37
Well deserved wicket for Polly but I would have liked Warne to get a half century

It's patently obvious that he has the talent - the trouble is, does he
a) believe it
b) have the patience to make it count

I think kapser should be batting @ 11.
Has the experience over clark but , well, I don;t think it will be too long before we see clarke @ 10 and kasper @ 11.

* waits for clark to get out for a duck and prove me wrong *

-----Edit that---

ok one ball and clark gets in behind it, definatley think kasper should be @ 11, kasper is worse than McGrath IMO.

I thought Hussey had to cut loose with Kasper still there, but nevermind its time to go after the bowling now atleast..

Symonds has simply got to go. With Gilly not what he used to be, well not as consistent anyway, having a liability like Symonds at 6 isn't smart. Yeah he scored 50 in the last test but when you have Clarke sitting back in the changings rooms doing nothing, its just stupid.
right on Jono. I think Australia ATM can go back to their tried & successful formula witht the ashes looming of 7 batsmen & 4 bowlers.

Warne will be bowling at his usual best, Lee is getting better by the test & has virtually become Australia main strike bowler,McGrath most likely will be back & unless something really strange occurs he should be bowling at his usual best, Clark has been a great find, plus you have old horses Dizzy & Kasper battling out for a spot & young Tait. So looking at Australia can have a successful 4-man attack again for sure

Australia definately doesn't have anyone yet who can really perform as an all-rounder that well at test level so as you rightly said with Gilly's weakness with bowlers going around the wicket to him being exposed now the top 6 should be tightened up for sure.

My prefered Australia XI presently with all available would be:

Langer
Hayden
Ponting
Martyn
Hussey
Clarke
Gilchrist
Warne
Lee
Clark
McGrath
