Far out! You were the better team! Get over yourselves! Honestly, you`re pathetic.

The Kiwi selectors believe that they put the best team on the paddock, the Aussie selectors haven`t done that.

Would quite like to see Cullen and Dorey in a game like this.

Who was actually missing from the Aussie side that was fit? Just McGrath?

Sour grapes bro.

We could say how our selectors keep picking **** players.... and how we are missing bond.. etc etc etc

So basically what your saying clown.. is that aussie cricket has no depth ? :P
We did win the series you know...And obviously we do, but our selectors are chosing to blood some new players

Yeah I am loving it to be honest. I still think we should have batted first though.

Yeah Stuart Clark is nothing special. His figures are better than he bowled.

From what I have seen (very little) Cameron White is one of the worst players I have seen play for Aus. Might have just had an off day but his bowling was dreadful.
I certaintly agree. Unless the pitch is a blatant green top, IMO bowling first against Australia in most situations is a negative move. Why would you let them make a big score first up and give their bowlers such an advantage because they have a big total? If they are good enough then they shouldn't be a problem for them.

Yeah, you were missing Bond, but that's it. Other than that, the 11 best players in New Zealand were playing. None of Australia's bowlers could be considered to be among the 4 or 5 best in the country. Australia has depth - more than any other team, really - but not THAT much. Most of it is in batting, too.

ffs you are a hypocrite. For NZ you are using the selectors as the measure for our best 11 players but for Aus you are using your personal opinion (saying you are missing Bichel, Gillespie and Harvey etc)

Edit- and MacGill who hasn't played ODI's for years, Warne who has retired from ODI's and Kaspa who got dropped after the ashes.

Shouldn't you be worried that these are the guys who are the future, and hopefully will win you the World Cup again?

Give me the name of any New Zealand bowler who should be playing over the ones who are now. All of the bowlers I listed are certainly better than Johson or Lewis or Clark or White. I was mostly thinking of McGrath, though.

Well done NZ, but Australia's bowling let them down. With the ball, Johnson looked out of his depth as did Cam White.
its his 1st game, it would be unfair to judge them so harshly so quickly. Although with Johnson he has a long way to before he can really get into the aussie side but he has pace and thats goood.

Yes. I am worried. Hopefully we'll get some good developments in the coming year.

yea probably if the selectors didn't want to go back to Dizzy or Kasper as Lee replacement & more wiser option would have been Dorey...

Australia used this entire series more for experimentation than anything else. That fact was emphasized by the selection of Johnson after Lee went out injured. I hate the selectors for doing what they did, and I hate to see ODI caps being handed out so cheaply.

not so much the 2007 world cup because Australia have the ammunition to win that for sure, but down the line once Johnson goes back to domestic cricket & improves in the coming years he'll be fine while White needs to work on his bowling. Plus they are so very other promisig youngs in OZ i.e Tait, Cullen, Cosgrove, Marsh, Jaques so not much need for any serious worrying as IMO..
