From what I have seen (very little) Cameron White is one of the worst players I have seen play for Aus. Might have just had an off day but his bowling was dreadful.
Thisguy is an absolute joke.Aussie state cricket is known to be the best in the world how come this guy not been found out at that level.

I can't understand why so many people have written off Cameron White. In my opinion, he and Cullen will bowl together for many years. Just let him find his feet at international level.

well done NZ. shows how weak the australian bowling is when Mcgrath and co. are missing.

Cameron White bowled with a wet ball in foreign conditions against a team going for quick runs.

Despite going for a few runs, he fooled Hamish Marshall with a wrong'un and bowled him.

Not a great debut but he's very young and will improve.

White averages 34 in FC cricket and 38 in List-A one day games. He's not been a huge success.

However, he is young, he has a good cricket brain, he's a very good, destructive batsman and a good fielders. His bowling is only one string to his bow, and he has the capability to be useful with that too.

Writing him off now is absurd.

now that is cool, two games that NZ were expected to get thrashed, both time coming close, this time we got through though. Nz have progressed from getting smashed to just losing to winning, while Aus hav gone a little bit backwards. Not much available without McGrath, shows how important he is.

Mick Lewis - one hit wonder. Or maybe less than that.
No mate. He bowls reasonably full, which means it's easy to drive, and on smallish NZ grounds, can be driven in the air with ease. Of course, Lewis will probably never play again.

Clark's not much better. I don't understand how he takes wickets at international level. I've seen bowlers like him playing park cricket.

I don't care. Dead rubber syndrome. I was much more interested in the match I was playing today, and the Pakistan Vs. England match. Dead rubbers are pointles.

Personally, I don't really see why pointing out that it was a substantially inexperienced Aussie bowling lineup makes somebody necessarily guilty of sour grapes, although it's obvious that some people in the thread could do with a hanky. Everybody's talking about the attack without McGrath, but Lee is still one of the premier (if not the premier ODI bowler in the world.

What a great win for NZ though! I can't believe they got there. I saw (read) when all looked lost around when Cairns was dismissed, and I went out. I think people judging Vettori's call at the toss harshly are a bit off the mark. It made perfect sense, and I would back the strong Aussie batting lineup to chase down a high total far more than I would an extremely fragile and inexperienced Aussie bowling lineup to defend one. Obviously Vettori would have hoped that they wouldn't be chasing over 330, but that they got there anyway only underlines the point.

I dunno why everybody's being so harsh on Lewis, either. Sure, he didn't have a good day, but he effectively won the match for us last game, and bowled quite well. Clark took 4/55 today in what were obviously 6 an over or more conditions - I actually think the selectors are doing a really good job in giving some of these guys a game, and using a series that many consider redundant to have a good look at how these players fare without a McGrath at the other end to turn the screws. World class bowlers are hard to come by in any country, and sometimes they have to be given a reasonable chance to come good at international level. People forget how ordinary McGrath looked early in his career.

Australia used this entire series more for experimentation than anything else. That fact was emphasized by the selection of Johnson after Lee went out injured. I hate the selectors for doing what they did, and I hate to see ODI caps being handed out so cheaply.
Hahahaha!

(I'm hoping the humor was intentional.)

I've disagreed with the selectors a few times lately, but I think their strategy in terms of this series is a good idea. Why not? Obviously the Lee thing was out of their control though.

Darren Lehmann was bowling with Cullen today with a wet ball in adelaide and both looked much better than white. Cullen was extremely impressive today for mine :)

hopefully, he clearly lacked the options of variation, particularly in his pace, to be bowling at the time, would have been better off bowling Symonds

Great win for us. You can say all you like about an inexperienced Aussie bowling attack or whatever, but we chased down the runs; plenty more teams have failed to chase such a score, good or bad bowling attack.

Stud Styris: Amazing

McCullum: Deserved the Man of the Match award... he won the game for us in the end. Rode his luke like you'd expect in the situation. Great stuff.

Wasn't Lewis a hero one match ago?
Even weirder is that he has something of a reputation for being a bowler at the death for Victoria, but if you listened to some of the comments resulting from this (one) match, he's completely inappropriate for that role, despite actually bowling an excellent final over of the innings in the last game where NZ really looked the goods to win.

I think it`s just cricket, and some of these things happen. Good bowlers get smacked, edges don`t get picked up etc, but that is in the nature of cricket.

I think it was a great idea for the Australian selectors to give others a go, I just think they chose the wrong people. Dorey and Cullen are just two young bowling talents who I think are really special.

And all those writing off the Aussie Domestic comp and youth... you couldn`t possibly follow it at all, because there is SO much talent there. I love watching the class of the domestic games.
