Personally, I don't really see why pointing out that it was a substantially inexperienced Aussie bowling lineup makes somebody necessarily guilty of sour grapes, although it's obvious that some people in the thread could do with a hanky. Everybody's talking about the attack without McGrath, but Lee is still one of the premier (if not the premier ODI bowler in the world.
What a great win for NZ though! I can't believe they got there. I saw (read) when all looked lost around when Cairns was dismissed, and I went out. I think people judging Vettori's call at the toss harshly are a bit off the mark. It made perfect sense, and I would back the strong Aussie batting lineup to chase down a high total far more than I would an extremely fragile and inexperienced Aussie bowling lineup to defend one. Obviously Vettori would have hoped that they wouldn't be chasing over 330, but that they got there anyway only underlines the point.
I dunno why everybody's being so harsh on Lewis, either. Sure, he didn't have a good day, but he effectively won the match for us last game, and bowled quite well. Clark took 4/55 today in what were obviously 6 an over or more conditions - I actually think the selectors are doing a really good job in giving some of these guys a game, and using a series that many consider redundant to have a good look at how these players fare without a McGrath at the other end to turn the screws. World class bowlers are hard to come by in any country, and sometimes they have to be given a reasonable chance to come good at international level. People forget how ordinary McGrath looked early in his career.
