**Official** Australia in India Thread

Regardless of the result of this test, Australia need to re-examine their defensive strategy against the spinners. Both Harbhajan (in the second innings in Bangalore) and Kumble have taken big hauls of wickets through bat-pad catches already in the series. Australia seem to have most other things working well against the spinners, but when they come forward to the ball every batsman except Hayden and Katich struggles when they don't get to the pitch of it.

We might see them playing more off the back foot in the future, or simply playing more aggressively and trying to take the close fielders out of the game.

Jeez louise - what's all this strolling? It's the umps decision if you're a goner! Walking is for those trying to impress the comentators not your teammates.

This is great !! I watch Hayden and Langer pound the bowlers for 130 odd, then switch off the telly.

Then I wake up to find the Aussies 8 down !!

Rajeev is right, this is somewhat similar to chennai 2001 , although hayden had a 200 there .

Thats two Australian batsmen that have walked. I wonder how many Indians will follow that example.

McGrath run out.

I haven't see a collapse like that for years.

Gilchrist walked. Because he thought he was out. Do you think he was trying to impress the commentators???

It is not a no-ball, it is up to the batsman to pull away. I'm sure players would be doing it subtlely enough so the umpires wouldn't hear it.
what happens if the batsman constantly pulls away due to this happening? If the guys running into bowl and doing it (as I read in an article somewhere, may not be even close to the truth) then it'd be hard to do it so the umpire wouldn't hear it.

Its a disgrace to hear Slats go on about why walk.

I mean, god.

If you are out, the honorable thing to do is walk.

Atleast the Aussies show that they play fair, I would never in a fit see Ganguly walking if it was an indecisive decision.

I wait for somebody to prove me wrong, but I still can not get over his one-hand-one-bounce appeal in the World Cup.

So whoz gonna open here, Pathiv probably with Yuvraj

It would be a bad idea to open with Yuvraj and Sehwag , especially now that India must try to bat just once .

Wow.. Kumble 17.3 4 48 7

I was wondering why cricinfo hadn't refreshed yet since i last saw it at 217/7.. refreshed it and i was like WOAH.. 235 A.o.. and big feat from kumble who has been a champ for them lately..
Is it a pretty good spinners track? looking at the wicket list ( 7 to Kumble 2 to Harbajan ) .. it seems so..?
