..and finally Parthiv takes the 1 which matters
Matters? How much? The batsmen who troubled the Indians most were Hayden, Langer, Clarke and Gilchrist.

Lehmann gone. :(

Edit: Great catch for Patel! I guess we jinxed it.
Looked like a retirement shot - he just doesn't want to be there does he.

He is making the selectors job very easy.

Looks like the spinners are bowling hand grenades now.

I wonder how Warnie will bowl on it - it should suit him down to the ground.

Lol, normally you jinx a player but praise them about how they are playing well, and then they go out or get smacked for six. This worked in the opposite with Patel. We bagged his keeping, and he took a catch :D

Still doesn't change the fact that he's kept poorly, and I'm still concerned. I just think its best if he takes a year off, work on his keeping non stop, and come back a changed player. He's 19, he has plenty of time to become a star keeper.

I really don't understand those mess-ups he made... The simplest stuff that any fielder would snap up without gloves he drops, and the thick bottom edge he catches... Where's the logic?

The Indians get a crap decision back in their favour. Clarke out lbw to Kumble to a ball that would have easily missed leg stump.

This containment strategy is working well for India. They aren't exactly ripping through the lineup, but the run rate has dropped a lot and importantly all the runs are coming in singles, it's not lots of dot balls with boundaries thrown in, and the Australian batsmen are obviously getting frustrated.

It's going to be interesting to see how Gilchrist plays.

I disagree. That was plumb, he was well beaten and the ball would have hit leg stump.
