**Official** Australia in India Thread

Tendulkar might have a huge affect on the Indians performance, if he recovers quickly after playing in a match, the Indians might make a considerable run chase for Australia. Tendulkar could have a big affect on the outcome of the series if he plays.

If he played which there is a big question mark around. In a way I would be happy and in a way I would be sad if Tendulkar played. Happy because it would be entertaining to watch. Sad because it would mean possible bad news for the Aussies.

Sports Tonight says that Darren Lehmann is considering standing aside for Michael Clarke.
Don't get your hopes up there Billy Boy. Sports Tonight isn't know for it's outstanding scoops! Clarke is yet to prove himself in the Test arena (1 innings does not make a career) Even with the 151* his first class average was still under 40.

So they just made up what Lehmann said? Sure. ;)

Lehmann said he doesn't want to hold up Clarke's progress. And I know nothing is concrete, I just mentioned that he said he was considering standing aside.

Yeah, but you jumped all over my on MSN. I'm just telling you not to get your hopes up. like you shouldn't for Clarke's performance in the 2nd test.

I said exactly the same thing on MSN. That's hardly jumping all over! :p

You have this obsession lately with poking your tongue out with every comment you make...really annoying.

You couldn't wait to tell me about Clarke. I think that story had finished, what about 3 seconds before you rushed to your computer to tell me. :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Not after Clarkes' first test performance. But for the tour he should have been in the original 16, or at least Ponting's replacement.

Hodge got the call up because they wanted a number 3 batsman, Symonds should have been in the squad somewhere, but i dont know where...

He should be worried if he continues to play that way! I never said he should be worried about getting dropped. He is the vice captain and a very, very capable player. But the way Clarke played and the way Lehmann played, if Lehmann continues in that vein he will have to start getting worried.
and any batsman would be worried if he continued to fail time and time again wouldnt he?whats your point?

A generic question, but what is wrong? Lack of team spirit? Or lack of great players? Or the effects of bad bureaucracy in the background coming on field?
the same problem that they've had for years, poor bowling and overrated players.

Its not the captain himself its just the resources that he has .. I still rate Ganguly as world's third best captain , Offcourse after Atapatu and Ponting.
i can think of at least 2 captains that are far better than ganguly will ever be.
note- for those who dont know about what i think of ganguly, i think hes good enough to lead india, but as far as his intelligence and innovation goes, its close to void.

Gilchrist made the comment that if Warne only takes 8 wickets for the series, and they're all Laxman, he'll be happy with that.
interesting point there, while warne has been poor in india, the wickets that he has taken are usually off the top order, as opposed to 'clean up the tail' macgill.

Thats because the top order played him with too much 'respect' and lower down they had nothing to lose and played him as they would any leg spinner on the domestic circuit.
