Okay, if the Clarke decision was wrong Bucknor has just evened out Bowden's mistake and probably the Tendulkar decision from the last series too. It's hard to imagine anyone being more plumb than Patel just was to McGrath.

Yuvraj is gone for 5. Sad. Looks like Indian cricket may lose a promising youngster, who can score lots of runs, hit bigh shots and field really, really well, to lack of form.

Lucky Parthiv survives a genuine LBW shout.

I have never mentioned the Champions trophy Neil, I assume you are talking about the one where the West Indies pasted England. Just to show how pathetic you are.

Let me be amongst the first to welcome you back to CW - and it didn't even take you a month of sulking either.

He's a better fielder than all of the regulars, but that shouldn't be a particularly significant factor in deciding whether he stays in when Sachin returns. Chopra's awful dismissal could well be decisive in this respect, even if Yuvraj fails with the bat.
Ideally, the selectors should play him and Kaif in place of Ganguly and Sehwag, had it not been for their A-class contracts, which should be reviewed. And of course, Ganguly is captain, for four years. There's no way Yuvraj can replace Sachin, Laxman or Dravid, since they're far better than any other player in this team, and they're all good fielders and runners between wickets. He can't replace Chopra, since he's not an opener.

However, fielding and running between wickets are some very basic aspects of the game, which have to be done right. Teams that do it right cango very far. One just needs to look at the Australians, or Kiwis, where everyone can field and run between wickets well.

Australia have certainly got the nod in all the debatable decisions, though none have been real howlers (I didn't see the Clarke LBW).
Considering Aus has done most of the batting that sounds about right...Benefit to the doubt goes to the batsman and all.

That said, I haven't seen video of any decision..I am speaking purely in general terms.

How many times can you be wrong. All umpires make mistakes and sometimes even the supporters get it wrong. India dont get any more bad decisions than any other team its just their supporters are more willing to complain loudly and excessively.
Hmm, funny - if Hayden's given lbw 1st ball in the second-innings when the ball's clipping the top of the stumps, I wonder how long will it take for some people to complain that it was terrible Umpiring and any fool could see it was passing fifty feet over the stumps.
By the sounds of things Clarke was absolutely plumb and wasn't given and Chopra got given out correctly when some might have given it not-out.
I don't dislike Bucknor, he's undoubtedly a good Umpire, but it is a trifle irritating at times how most of his poor decisions seem to end-up favouring players I'd rather they didn't favour.

Looks like McGrath will be a key player in this series for his team. So will VVS Laxman, for the Indians.

And after Lehmann's innings I would be worried if I were him. That was local weekend park cricket stuff.
If they drop Lehmann and play Clarke I hope Clarke gets a pair - and I mean that!

Parthiv Patel, for instance?

Now that is like a true Indian supporter! Many Indians would wish for a Clarke pair!

As per every series in the last 42 months.
What's Laxman's average since Kolkata 2001, now, I wonder. Haven't checked for a while.

Laxman's average since Kolkata has been in the 50's, maybe over 55.

Warne has just bowled Laxman. Now I've always thought that ball he bowled to Gatting was over-rated - that one just beat it!
