6/9!!! Holy Mother of God!

Probably puts Hauritz' performance into perspective.

I can't remember the last time I saw figures that amazing.
haha, yeah he's gone alright that Clarke boy!

Who's the man of the series then? There's some good performances to choose from.

Lets not forget that Hauritz got out both Tendulkar and Laxman. Its been a pretty good debut by the spinner - alot better than many thought.

6 for 9 is the best ever 6 wicket haul in Australian test cricket. The previous best was from Charles "Terror" Turner with 6-20 early in the 20th century.

Truly astonishing performance.

Meanwhile, Langer is gone.

Clarke.

The simple reason is that it is his first series. Martyn and Gillespie can both make cases for it, and while Gillespie has had three amazing performances with the ball and Martyn fell just short of three consecutive centuries and saved the second test on his own, a 151 and a couple of other big scores along with a match-winning bowling spell all in a debut series will clinch it for Clarke.

If a part-timer can be that effective, how will Kumble and Bhajji go? Maybe they will be a lot more lethal. Ponting will basically pass 11.

Unbelievable. Michael Clarke.......6/9!?!?!?!?!

  :-O

Im not going to write us (India) off yet. It will take an unbelievably disciplined performance by India to win this one, but Australia are 99% sure of victory in my eyes.

Clarkey take a bow.....6/9!

Thats amazing
warney must be livid that he isnt playing this test!!
his best chance to get that average against india up considerably......

Oh yeah, Harmison in Kingston, forgot that one... :)

Still, incredible for a part-timer, even if it's an indictment on the pitch.
well theres also jermaine lawson's 6/3, but we could leave that out since it was against b'desh :D

I'd probably have to go for Martyn by a whisker over Clarke, he's scored more runs then Clarke so i'll have to go by that.

When considering Man of the series you have to consider who has had the greater impact on the series. If it wasn't for Martyn's innings in the second test (with Gillespie) I have no doubt Australia would have lost that match. Also Martyn's 55 in this test is becoming, more and more valuable with every over. If Australia were chasing 162 instead of 107 it could be a different outcome. Add to the fact Martyn has most runs and almost equaled Don Bradman's record of 3 tons in consecutive innings against India. Although it would be tough on Clarke, and other series he would definately be man of the series. I don't think the fact that it is his first series can come into account, it has to be who has had greater impact on the series result.

OUT!, Ponting caught at slip off Kartik, Ponting edges the ball hits the keeper Karthik on the thigh and deflects to Dravid at first slip who takes the catch
