My guess is the declaration will come after Martyn gets his 100, if he gets it.

Amazingly, that will make it 5 centuries in 6 tests in the subcontinent this year for Martyn.

3rd Australian batsman out in the 90s. Khan gets Martyn for 97. Disapointment for Martyn, but Khan deserved the wicket. Declaration with the wicket.

Martyn didn't walk. For all you supporters of the new-Aussie-look walkers. Atherton was dead on about this bs that the Aussies have selectively chosen to do. However he did throw his gloves, and a tantrum, as he walked off the ground. Do you think he will get disciplinary action from the Match Referee. Nah, he's not sriLankan or Pakistani or Indian...

You really are a tool. The Australians have all said it is an individual decision to walk. And if players were to go before the match referee each time a batsman threw their gloves off the field I think there would be about 10 suspensions per match.

I think this series is really the result of 6 years of thought and work against India. Most Australians thought 2001 was the time we would finally beat India at home, and halfway through the second test it certainly looked like Australia would run away with it, but Australia have learnt from that loss and from the way the Indians performed last summer and come back knowing exactly how to win and followed through with it. To concentrate on the fact that India have played poorly is to ignore the fact that this is one of the greatest triumphs in Australian cricket.
To say that
- its been a very smart and professional performance by Australia
- vastly different from Australia's usual style and approach
- others have filled in with a different approach......
- This has helped them conquer, what I believe is an , overall, beter Indian attack then 2001.
- Australia have thoroughly outplayed
(India)
and that Australia's bowling has been

steady rather than spectacular

does not in any way decry Australia's performance or ignore the glorious triumph of Australian cricket
Nor is saying that India
- has provided some very disappointing batting by the top guns
- been a lackluster .... side
- have had overall, better .... attack then 2001
- totally lacking in self belief
- have looked nowhere like a side challenging for the second spot let alone the first
become tantamount to concentrat(ing) on the fact that India have played poorly

However, if you have decided that anything coming from an Indian supprter must be somehow less than complimentary to Australians and can be dismissed as nothing better than an excuse for defeat, well I have nothing further to say. Happy posting.

If he did it while he was walking off the ground, then it was hardly disputing the umpires decision.

OK, that isn't the only thing that will get you sent to the referee, but I think showing your annoyance at getting out in the 90's is quite reasonable.

As for not walking..as Mr Wright said, it's an individual decision. I don't recall Martyn walking before, so it would appear he has decided not to.

Agreed, it is a problem, and people would do better to consider the post and the person who posted it more fully before they reply.

I would say however that it goes both ways, relatively mild Australian supporters comments that don't support India have been considered to be blatant attacks ( etc ).

Both are wrong ( usually ), although I would say there are some members of this board who are guilty of either being too aggressive in their comments or being too sensitive ( the same people tend to fit both catagories I suspect ).

Solution? I think that is just upto the individuals...stop and think before you reply remember who you are replying to, and try not to feed the trolls.,,or to put it more nicely, don't bother arguing with those you have no hope of convincing.

Evidently you misunderstand me, as I did not believe your comment was any sort of excuse for defeat. The only area where we actually disagreed was in you saying that the Australian bowling was steady but not spectacular.

Gillespie on fire!

He has removed Chopra and now Dravid with ripper deliveries...

Enter Tendulkar.

Can Gillespie get his first 10 w/m?
