Reasonably well and ordinary are pretty much the same thing.
So why did you ask "When?" when it was said that he'd done reasonably well?

BTW I think he's done a little better than "reasonably well" under the circumstances. I think that a number of times during the series, often at very important times, he's been very, very good. But debating that he hadn't even done reasonably well seemed pretty uncharitable.

He is a new ball bowler, and he is supposed to be a strike bowler, but last time I checked the series stats he was averaging in the mid 30s.
He's just touched 40 now!

Unfortunately, the sitter Warne dopped off KP seems to be the end of it.

Sums up the series really.
And it's a shame that far and away the Australian star of the series is the one to drop the catch.

I guess I'm just a little bit fired up is all. He's supposed to be a wicket taker, but when he doesn't take wickets or goes for a lot of runs very quickly between wickets, I just can't see what his value in the side is.

Personally I don't think that Lee has bowled that well when McGrath has been out, which is when we needed him to stand up and be counted. And even when McGrath has been in, he's been patchy.

yeah, not good is it. I'd be surprised if he's economy rate is not close to 5rpo. However, if he gets a hat-trick here I will happily eat my words without tomato sauce.

And I had my hopes high that you would at least claim that you will eat your computer.

Well, much of the team has struggled this tour. If not for Warne, we'd be getting absolutely cained. I feel that Lee's been one of the better performers for us in the series, though.

Well blow me down, I thought he was south african, his accent has a large hint of afrikans in it. Has he spent much time in South Africa ?
South Africa and Zimbabwe are neighbours. To me, their accents are indistinguishable (though I have never payed much attention to them comparatively).

I hate to blame this all on one person but the Aussies reliance on Gilly to save them time and again has been their main weakness. He has not come to the party at all and when the Aussies would normally get atleast a solid 60 odd from him. Our great strength is indeed our great weakness.

But, that's just my point. With the exception of Warne and McGrath nobody has had a good series, which doesn't make it hard for Lee to be, "one of the better performers for us in the series." If you take out the fact that others have bowled poorly and look at Brett Lee's individual bowling feats they are not of someone who is the 2nd best bowler of their country.

No silly mid on, no silly mid off, only 1 slip and no fine leg (resulting in the 4 off the last ball) in the Lee over shows how poor a captain Ponting is.
