Yet again the Aust middle order as failed. Its a shame that the hard work of Langer and Hayden has been ****ed away in 2 hours.

If today hasn't ended Martyns career then it must be close, hes on notice, yet again hes failed when he needed to score runs, hes become Mark Waugh. His place will be series by series, he'll need to make lots of runs all the time to keep his place.

Gilly............WTF has happened to this bloke, hes falling apart, we needed 50 from him today and yet again hes out cheaply. He'll need to score heavily in the Australian summer or I'd say hes gone.

Kat.................this was his time to make some quality runs and he didn't, he doesn't deserve a lot of mercy at this point.

Aust needs to find another 100-120 runs to make this interesting. Its just a crying shame they crumbled this morning, 4-350 is a platform, 6 for 350 is teetering.
Why does everyone keep calling for Katich to be dropped!!??

He made a half century in the first test and then 45 and 59 in the fourth.

Improbable, Vaughan has already signalled his intent for the draw.
Well, if the opportunity presents itself, I'm sure that England would be perfectly happy to look for a win, but not at the risk of gambling and losing all. However, I hardly think that Vaughan has 'signalled his intent' to play for the draw. Where do you get that idea from, or is it (once again) your ridiculous green-tinted spectacles leaving you with that picture?

England this morning have consistently had at least 2 slips and a gulley. Sure there's been a couple of sweepers out, but it's hardly been negative play - as four back in the hutch would bear witness.

Proabably because in those innings he played the best he can play.

That's wrong, I think - today's play started at 10:30 English time, it would have started 11 but for the rain yesterday.
1030am english time is usually 730 australian est time, thats about when every day of each of the tests has started except for the rain interrupted starts.

Whatever it takes!!!
I am amazed by Flintoff's stamina. The guy should be knighted already. :D

Seriously, though, to bowl so many overs at that pace and that accuracy and also make runs and field pretty well as well, this guy can be second only to Sobers if he can maintain form and fitness.

No the scheduled start is 10:30am, but in england instead of starting half an hour earlier and finishing half an hour earlier as in other countries, we finish an hour later, so there is no difference

we can go on an hour later, places where it starts half an hour earlier can only go on half an hour - its because of the dew in the morning and the later dusk

Wow now lets not go saying things that can't be taken back (pot kettle black:p ) , Flintoff has to get near Botham before you start to bring in the great man.

Yeah, contrast that with Punter's fields on friday morning: bowling the seamer of his generation to dear old Ash Giles with one slip & seven fielders on the fence..... :p

I'll see your flintoff and raise you one McGrath.
As far as their contribution this series, Warne and Flintoff are obvious parallels. Apart from Lord's, McGrath has (thus far) been an equally obvious irrelevance.

You want me to tell you punter is a shocking skipper , no need , then again he has never really captianed Australia he usually gets Darren Lehman to do it for him.

While were on it I also rate Mark Taylor ahead of Steve Waugh as a captian.

Seriously though - any other Aussie fans think England deserve the Ashes?

'Cause I kinda do. I feel like if we somehow win this one, we'll have gotten out of jail, and I think the players know it.

Which is not to say that I wouldn't take it happily if we somehow pull it off and retain the urn. :)
