Can almost guarantee that neither Jacques or Hussey will be called up - that's too creative.

More likely to call up Watson or Symonds and play MacGill and 6 bats incl Gilly.

Looks like Ponting was unhappy about how long the substitute's been on the field there, but in reality, it's been a real stroke of luck for us that Jones has been off for so long.

Although there's some suggestion that England have been rotating their fast bowlers off the field and leaving the subbie on. Not a good thing, if that's the case, and the umpires should get on top of this if it's genuinely occurring.

Ponting might have been fairly angry at Marto for the silly call (and it was) too, but it's hard to tell whether he could have perhaps made that if he hadn't been so hesitant. Pretty brainless stuff from Marto under the circumstances though, to just tap it straight to the fielder and run like that.

Whats Ponting grumbling about, last test Hodge was on all of Englands innings' bar two overs and Clarke batted twice. Anyway get in Flintoff! Bye bye Martin, Ponting will be happy now!

I don't think there's much doubt about it really. England have been doing it since the first ODI of the NatWest series with Vikram Solanki. The problem is that as it's clearly against the rules Ponting should have pointed it out and done something about it before now. I've even seen John Buchanan mention it in an interview, without any discussion of what Australia was doing about it.

Anyway, there's no doubt that the run-out and subsequent Martyn wicket are definitive. Ponting was the one guy you could really see batting for 5 hours and making a huge score, and he's gone now. Any hope Australia might have had of going to stumps even and setting a target are gone now, it's just a matter of time.

Martyn owes us a massive hundred here.

2.5 days to bat and he calls a suicidal single to a guy that's obviously a good fieldsman - why else would they bus him down from backofnowheresville if he wasnt - dumb and dumber.

Ponting shouldnt be complaining about Eng's use of 12th men - they've done it all summer and he should've complained well before now if he had a problem

Edit: Martyn youve had a shocker.

Err. Clarke had a back injury and wasn't even at the ground. That's a bit different from Harmison going off to put his feet up for 10 minutes, isn't it?
