I wouldn't mind Mitchell Johnson playing more than two games in a row first 8-)

I think that some of these players are a sign of the times in terms of fast bowling teaching. All refined actions aimed to get the most pace, and in doing so compromise the amount of movement that the bowler gets.
interesting Vic, but have u ever seen Johnson bowl??

I was commenting on what Aus groundsmen did when India was in Aust, we served up roads which nullified our advantages and played to their strengths.

Eng have every right to prepare the pitches that suit them, and they have definitely done that, my point was that Aus groundsmen haven't usually done that, and perhaps they need to.
They just interviewed the groundsman and asked him what the ECB tell them to prepare, he said "the best pitch possible".

Not live, but on television. From all reports, he's dropped a fair bit of pace anyways from a few years ago, when he was genuine lightning. Much like Brad Williams did. Only in ING games (as they're the only ones televised) and prepared to cut him a bit of slack, but seemed to be pretty up and down, didn't cause batsmen too many problems.

What I love about him is his massive front arm. No wonder he generates so much pace, he gets the most out of that limb.

Dunno about the bolt through the chin though...

Paul Reiffel, Damien Fleming, god even Craig McDermott...where are you? :(

We need a hero who's not erratic, or a bowling machine. Please!

Nope. Which is why so many of us were interested in seeing Tait bowl today - see what he was clocking in at.

Tait swinging them pretty late, too!

well erractic in the sense that he hard to pick up since he's a left-armer (at least thats what i gathered from what Hodge told me)

As I said before, he's very streamlined and brings the ball back from behind him a little bit, and I've seen him bowl left-arm round quite a bit in One Dayers - which would make it harder.

Anyone else think that Simon Hughes pulled a Richard before and undersold Kasprowicz, because he supposedly wasn't moving the ball both ways? The odd one was gripping and heading away, that's all that is necessary. And he even did bring the cherry back towards leg, look at the one that Tresco chopped, and a few that were hit towards mid-on and mid-wicket.

Damien Fleming - there was an underrated bowler. Got the ball to swing extremely late, too. Unfortunately another Aussie player ruined by constant injury, but he was really, really good IMO. Somewhere, in an alternate reality, he's taken 300 wickets plus.

Oh crap, it's raining again.
