Lee has interspersed great stuff with rubbish in this innings, but dont blame him for providing the let-offs that put batsmen into form.

Gillespie's series is all but over IMO, and his immediate test career. If Ponting won't throw him the ball when McGrath, Warne and Lee aren't getting wickets than it says it all about his confidence in the long haired one.

I'll only leave it there for today.

Much as I despise arrogance in others, I do tend to over-egg it myself - and my jury is definitely out over Ian Bell. As far as talent is concerned, I think he's got every bit as much as Rampers (who had it with some to spare). What he needs is application and confidence.

I'll agree he has bowled some beatuies, but in his second spell all he did was serve up short balls when he should have been either mixing his length up or pitching it up.

Gillespie looks disinterested, he is lacking agression and desire. He must be dropped, which is a bit of a loss to our lower order but it must be done. He has not threatened all tour.

Ouch going out on a bit of a limb there.

So when does Dizzy get an over?

Really tough times for Ponting. Wouldn't want to be in his shoes. Or his underwear.

Somehow, we need to keep a lid on this run-rate. Strauss is starting to look very comfortable, and there are 48 overs left today. Oh, who am I kidding, the only way we're likely to save this is probably to lose another hour or two to rain.

I love the way with you and SW one edge through the slips and little else becomes 'edged through slips to third man many times'

Not making excuses for him, but he should not even have been bowling. Who was the bowler everyone thought should be bowling and the bowler England fear most - Warne.

Warne, despite his obvious genius, cannot bowl from both ends at the same time.

Lee was on at one end, Warne at the other.

If youre bowling with one slip and a gully and the ball goes between them off the edge, guess what, its still an edge

I feel silly for saying this, but, GO DIZZY.

Seems such a shame to end his career (and I do fear that's what's on the cards here) like this. I'd love to see him get something back.
