Whats worse, friends who I didnt know watched much cricket have been calling up to discuss "what an exciting game it was" :@ :@ I am the only one who was engrossed in Kaif, Yuvraj and company manhandling Deonarain rather than watch one of the closest test finishes in the last twenty years-actually of all time.

Grrrrrrhhhhh !!
Best hope is catching the highlights during a news bulletin........

It would've been a tie had Bowden not called that Warne leg-bye a dead ball, though.
That would only have been 1 run and would've changed the game completely because who was on strike at the time.

IMO the real issue is why are players being fined for send-offs? Dissent for umpires I can understand but for Christ's sake it makes the game much more interesting, entertaining to watch and fires up the game. We don't need robotic behaviour.
I agree completely. Nothing wrong with sendoffs as long as they don't get overly nasty or physical. They're a great exhibition of the competitive spirit of the game, and the ICC's got this all wrong.

I think I may have gone to the brandy cabinet if we'd lost that game, and stayed there until Monday morning. Absolutely incredible Test match. These Aussies are not world champions for nothing, great spirit shown particularly from Lee, who I've always liked as a bloke anyway. After Warne's gentlemanly showing with Fred yesterday (these little moments really impress me) it was good to see Fred doing the same with Lee; instead of running to celebrate with his team he went straight over to Lee to console, top class.

Tough on you Aussies but great for England, the series and world cricket.

Cricket is the greatest game in the world.

Now I have to put the washing out, great drying weather today.

Probably the same sort of thing that Pietersen was going on about when he should have been out LBW at Lords.
From what I saw it looked like Clarke was going off about the full tosses that Flintoff was bowling, when there was nothing wrong with them.

Same thing with Pietersen, although he should have been thankful to get away with a second life, rather than complaining about Lee getting him out.

I didn't catch the Pietersen incident, so I can't comment on it.

Only difference between them is that one involved robbing one of the teams & the other had no bearing.
Nope only the robbing off the wikcet to lee. Apart from that Peitersens dismissal at that particular time would have had no effect on the overall outcome of the match

yeah.

he and giles really proved the critics wrong in this game.
I don't think Giles proved his critics wrong, he took 5-146 overall on a pretty good track for the spinners (especially against left-handers who were in a bit of a lottery) - I think those figures flatter him a bit as he was pretty poor in the second innings generally when he should have been a potential match-winner.

It could have done though, that's the point.

The fact that it didn't just meant that justice happened to prevail for Australia on that particular occasion.
