if he misses a single game of this series england have pretty much lost that game. its not just bowling and batting he brings to this side, theres fielding and a great character to have on the field.

Really? My understanding was that the two qualifications on the LBW rule (must hit in line, must not pitch outside leg) went out the window when the batsman was not attempting to play the ball?

i think you have it confused with the rule outside off. if a ball ptches outside off and hits outside off you cant be given out if you are playing a shot.
