Ponting looked to be coming good before he gave it away during the second innings at Lords, and has carried on. As usual when he gets a start, he should be in for a big score here, and that will make 407 look a hell of a lot easier, especially given that at this rate they should be halfway there by drinks in session 2.

Pretty poor sort of a dismissal there from Ponting. Quite a number of the Australians seem to have patience problems, and Giles negative tactics could exploit that quite effectively.
