*Official* Ashes Series Thread

Eclipse

I have never said "england are the worst team in the world"

Any how I know what you mean and I will let you know I have allways had a fairly high opinion of england during this series despite there bad showings. I still rate them as a pritty decent side and thought it was stupid when people were bagging england so much when realisticly other team would have done no better.

I think Vaughan will go to number 1 in PWC ranks after this match you get stacks of points if you make 100s agiant Australia.

Probably his luckest innings ever I can count about 12 times when he probably could have been out.

I was really pissed off when Langer Droped him in the 70s it was bloody straight forward.

Will Vaughan be playing the remaining VB series ?? I think with some work to his One day game he could avrage high 30s in ODI cricket.

If Vaughan plays in the ODIs were will he bat he doesent seem a natrual middle order batsman to me and they cant drop Collingwood.

His Figures may not suggest it infact the look pritty ordanary but I really though Lee bowled well for the most part he stuck to his guns and bowled good line and length he would have got Vaughan out with any luck he beat his bat alot today and that was with the old ball. It was a bit disapointing to see him go for runs in the last few overs he probably deserved better.
Sounds like Steve Harmison's series that!

Vaughan would come in at 3 I expect, and Irani leaving the team.

[B Also it really annoys me that people make judgements on players without actualy seeing the match and no Highlights does not count. [/B]
Well I suppose I'll just leave it to Rich who has Sky...Rich...did Lee bowl crap or not?

Having seen the highlights...

Just how many times did Bichel get lucky with the edge... Grrr...

Eclipse, I wasn't aiming the "Worst Team" comment at you.

Funny that, I was under the impression from certain quarters that England had had all the luck in this match!

yeah well im gonna have to say to eclipse ( i think) that macgill bowled how he usually bowls, some good balls, but a hell of alot of bad balls, And if he weer playing an oponent that had any idea about leg spin he would have got even more smashed

yeah but in the "tougher domestic comp" lee averages about 24 and about 15 for this season, apart from that you kow that if the umpiring had been descant this match that he would have had more wickets

Dawson is crap.

Harmison and Lee are not having good series statistically, but Harmison has impressed because he's bowling against a better batting lineup. Also just something I've noticed, Hayden's average has dropped from 55 which it was after the 1st Test, to 51.60 now...that's quite a drop! And he took it out on a window...oh dear.

harmison has not done than much with the ball and will probably be dropped if Gough returns as hoggard has now picked up some pace.

No I doubt that, he's impressed and Gough might not be Test fit when Zimbabwe come over so Harmison will get a chance to get that average down.

Aust are having 3 test series vs Zimbabwe and Bangladesh this year i think so averageswill shoot up for batsmen and down for bowlers :)

Geez, you try bowling 85 overs in a match having previously 84 in a match a week ago having also previously only played interstate cricket where you'd be lucky to bowl 40 overs in a match and see if you can land the ball on a penny with no bad balls AND take wickets.................

yeah that was nearly funny, but i think this is funnier

your number 1 bowler is averaging 47.5 for the series with the ball

harmison is averaging 68

and lee is haing a bad series too but he is only averaging 38

*laughs at rik*

Will you quit moaning about the umpiring and just accept it?

Haven't heard a peep from you at the number of decisions in Aus's favour in the first 4 matches, but then again why would we expect to?
