Hoggard is Shot to pieces (Confidence) so a Spell in the Acadamy will do him a world of good?
He did have that in between the 3rd and 4th Tests - did very well in a practise match I seem to remember.

England finally have a chance to actually win in Australia. However, they first have to surmount 2 big obstacles in the form of an in-form Waugh and Gilchrist. If they can get both out quickly tomorrow, they can hope to gain a substantial lead, otherwise it will be the same old story again. Waugh is a batsman who has the patience to bat for ever, and the longer he stays at the wicket, the lesser Engand's chances will be.

Well Gilly has been a bit scrachy this series, trying to live up to his own hype and score at a run a ball all the time. Just tie him up, let him get himself out, and your into the tail, not much to ask is it?

A very simplistic statement. I said Waugh is the key, Gillespie and Lee are quite capable of keeping one end up and supporting him and that's all he needs. It has happened enough times before for you or anyone to reject it out-of-hand. Another thing, Gilly is the kind of player who can run himself into form very easily and if he stays at the wicket for even a couple of hours, he can take the game away from England on his own. Anyway, let's wait and see...

Yes but Gilly has the ability to try and live up to his own hype and get himself out to a stupid shot. Waugh could get out then a few biffs and bangs from Lee and Bichel and we are down to MacGill...

Well Waugh is out, courtesy of good bowling by Hoggard who's got the ball to swing today...but Gilly's still there and batting well. Bichel before Lee in the order, let's see what happens. England just slightly ahead now.

Or get Waugh and then Bichel and Lee, suddenly Hoggard's on fire and who knows what will happen now?

Well I just had Broncoman telling me that Lee is a better bat than Bichel...hmmmm anyway only Gillespie (who's a **** to get out when set) and MacGill to get out and England might be looking at a lead. Amazing what happens when your 2 best bowlers are injured...

Make that 95*...they just said on the radio that it is almost an un-noticed potential century by Gilly...I have to agree, all I've got is my radio and I haven't notice him shoot up to it.

Gilly, right mate, you've got your 100, you've showed off now GET OUT!!! Why is it once you get Australia down he comes back and won't bugger off...:!(

The only reason gilly has not scored more this series is because he hasent had any of these situations to bat in these are the situations that he thrives on a bit like Steve Waugh.

Gilly is just a great player, he times and places the ball so well ecven when he does not take full blooded swings at it :)

I thought this might be the test match in which England would get an upper hand (for a change), instead Australia eventually got a lead of 1 run in the first innings!

For some strange reason i will be backing England to win this test match!

I was there on the second day of this last test until about 5 overs left we decided to beat the crowds and on the bus we heard about the century and everyone cheered but damn i missed out. It was a good day and i recommend anyone to go it is a great atmosphere. Go down if u dont have a ticket there are many scalpers.

Another 100 to Vaughan or though this time it wasent the best innings could have been out about five or six times.

England in a very strong position now my Judgment tells me this will be a very close game England should set Australia about 400 to win and ether the aussies will be all out or they will win I cant see them playing for a draw no matter what.

I backe them at the start when the odds were 10-1 - most pleased at that am I!

Well... what a day, again.

I'd like to see us set 400+ and see if Hoggard (back to form at last, Chris!), Harmison and Caddick can get in there early. Australia are certain to chase it, I can see this being a fantastic finish to a fantastic Test match.

Now, if only this had been the FIRST Test...
