He did have that in between the 3rd and 4th Tests - did very well in a practise match I seem to remember.chris.hinton said:Hoggard is Shot to pieces (Confidence) so a Spell in the Acadamy will do him a world of good?
Well Gilly has been a bit scrachy this series, trying to live up to his own hype and score at a run a ball all the time. Just tie him up, let him get himself out, and your into the tail, not much to ask is it?anilramavarma said:England finally have a chance to actually win in Australia. However, they first have to surmount 2 big obstacles in the form of an in-form Waugh and Gilchrist. If they can get both out quickly tomorrow, they can hope to gain a substantial lead, otherwise it will be the same old story again. Waugh is a batsman who has the patience to bat for ever, and the longer he stays at the wicket, the lesser Engand's chances will be.
A very simplistic statement. I said Waugh is the key, Gillespie and Lee are quite capable of keeping one end up and supporting him and that's all he needs. It has happened enough times before for you or anyone to reject it out-of-hand. Another thing, Gilly is the kind of player who can run himself into form very easily and if he stays at the wicket for even a couple of hours, he can take the game away from England on his own. Anyway, let's wait and see...Rik said:Well Gilly has been a bit scrachy this series, trying to live up to his own hype and score at a run a ball all the time. Yes but Gilly has the ability to try and live up to his own hype and get himself out to a stupid shot. Waugh could get out then a few biffs and bangs from Lee and Bichel and we are down to MacGill...anilramavarma said:A very simplistic statement. Or get Waugh and then Bichel and Lee, suddenly Hoggard's on fire and who knows what will happen now?Rik said:Well Gilly has been a bit scrachy this series, trying to live up to his own hype and score at a run a ball all the time. Well I just had Broncoman telling me that Lee is a better bat than Bichel...hmmmm anyway only Gillespie (who's a **** to get out when set) and MacGill to get out and England might be looking at a lead. Amazing what happens when your 2 best bowlers are injured...marc71178 said:Or get Waugh and then Bichel and Lee, suddenly Hoggard's on fire and who knows what will happen now?
I backe them at the start when the odds were 10-1 - most pleased at that am I!vandemataram said:I thought this might be the test match in which England would get an upper hand (for a change), instead Australia eventually got a lead of 1 run in the first innings!
For some strange reason i will be backing England to win this test match!
