Brett Lee's action is the same. The appearance of him chucking on replays is an optical illusion, same as Akhtar.

Same thing with Kirtley, strangely a load of people on this board think he chucks but it's the hyperextention...

wow man crawley is boring
He has this odd habbit of playing really slow innings and then his next one will be perfectly respectible! Oh for an in-form Flintoff instead of a slow-scoring Crawley! We'd be up to 450 odd before you can blink!

You really think, even after Flintoff's really long bad spell with the bat. Last actual major score was back in NZ as far as I can remember.

Australia 2/55, Caddick bowling well, despite conceding plenty of runs (Aus RR = 5.32 after 10.2 overs and that's down on what it was).

Hoggard is still bowling seam-up stuff and isn't looking very dangerous at this stage. Caddick is looking like he's about to tear through the Aussie line-up any second.

WHAT A FINISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geez, I was screaming for Steve Waugh by the last over and he got his hundred. That was incredible!

Still, England still have the advantage and if they can get a couple of early wickets, surely they can shut Australia out of the match.

The match is evenly poised I think the Austrlian Low order is much better than englands with Lee and Bichel very capable with the bat. England were in much the same position in the first inning so Australia should be able to atleast equal them.

Ether way I cant see england winning but they could force the draw if there good enough.

remember all it takes is an hour of Gilchrist and Australia are in command.

This is what Test Cricket should be like!

See, a couple of injuries and Australia aren't what they were before (or is it because they're already 4-0 up?).

I thoroughly look forward to Day 3 and I reckon this is balanced on a knife-edge again, it's all about the first hour, whether we can strike early.

Steven Waugh... what can I say? Cometh the hour, Cometh the man. You can't put a price on experience and the ability to come in and do that when the pressure's on. Still... :)

Dam right it makes the hair stand up on your back chilling suff great stuff!!

Waugh is quite clearly the man you would want to play that match saving match winning innings he is simpily the best there has ever been when it comes to rising to the occasion.

What a great player he is I can only imagine the feeling you would get to play an innings like that or to know that you are the sole reason Australia made the world cup final in 1999.

Once again however I cant see england winning its a really big ask to get 20 wickets againt Australia but I have throughly enjoyed the contest so far BRING IT ON!!

Yeah, this is turning out to be a superb Test, England just in the driving seat but if Steve or Gilly stay in and if Lee and Bichel can belt a few around and Gillespie can hang around for a bit we could see Australia take a bit of a lead, but at the moment it's perfectly poised. I feel sorry for Hoggard though, he's only got 1 Wicket in 3 Tests and he bowled well today and deserved one.

Well batted Waugh!
Oh well Blewie I don't think he hooked so I reccon he's gonna keep going!

I said an In-Form Flintoff. There has only been one occasion of that in Tests, and that was in New Zealand...but if he was in that kind of form who knows what could happen?

Australia's 2 main strike bowlers, McGrath and Warne, miss the Test and we are treated to the closest Test of the series, if I was an Australian I wouldn't be too worried about what happens when they retire, but I would be a bit nervous...

Ok, time to rate the bowlers!

Australia

Well...Brett Lee looked good with the new ball but again dissapointing. Still stuck on 99 Test Wickets and his average is hovering dangerously close to the 30 mark with the ball.

Jason Gillespie lead the attack well but didn't have much luck.

Andy Bichel was expensive but threatening. Got Stewart when he was threatening to take the game away from Australia with a superb Cameo.

MacGill was expensive and didn't bowl that well. Got Hoggard and Caddick but they were mainly due to an error by the batsmen although the ball the Hoggard was stumped off was one of the best he bowled.

Steve Waugh had superb figures but should have bowled himself more I feel.

England

Matthew Hoggard bowled quite well actually and swung the ball, deserved at least one Wicket. Hasn't had much luck on this tour.

Andy Caddick bowled well and threatened but 3-88 shows that again he just didn't go on with the job. Has been expensive this series and that has been one of England's main problems.

Steve Harmison bowled well and showed another glimpse of maybe an exciting future for him at Test Level. Should get some cheap Wickets against Zimbabwe in the summer and his career seems to be taking the Bond route, playing against tough opposition, bowling well then getting better and better.

Richard Dawson bowled okish but he really doesn't look of Test Standard. Spirited but doesn't turn the ball much, as most of the succesful International Offspinners have done so.

Honours even really I'd say.

3 wickets in 5th match running for Hoggard. He seems to be the AA of England. Actually he is slowly surpassing him.:D

No way has he ever bowled as badly as AA! And if you look at Hoggard's stats you will see he has taken 5 Wickets in an innings 2 times with a best of 7-63...AA still has yet to get 5 Wickets in a Test Innings! Hoggard just has not had any luck on this tour! And remembering that AA couldn't even take Wickets cheaply against England and Hoggard is against the best team in the world...that's a pretty harsh assumption on your part. Hoggy will never be that bad

Hoggard is Shot to pieces (Confidence) so a Spell in the Acadamy will do him a world of good?
Maybe, but I don't think it's confidence, I think the Aussies have just worked him out and the conditions are not really that helpful for him.
