that is really really stupid… completely unnecessary when set…. On cricket 247 I was just saying I’d rather he waited for the bad ball than tee off to jadeja… such a waste of a good start and being set..

Man they still have Woakes, Robinson and the ogre. Not to mention Pope still batting beautifully.

Hope we somehow restrict this to 50 odd runs.

This partnership felt a bit low-key, but it was pretty significant in terms of the match position.
"England has four left-handers, so a good match-up for Jadeja, with our seamers bowling over the wicket." - Panauti
...and he duly removes Moeen. Genius from Kohli!

Well, we'll take a 50 run deficit from here. Even that may be a bridge too far for this lot but I have a feeling we're in for some more misery.

Whatever it takes!!!
You guys are being too harsh here. England won a very important toss, bowled very well and our batsmen played a few soft shots to get out. They are also batting in the best batting conditions and we have done well to get them 220/7. It all depends on our 3rd innings batting. We will most likely bat in very good batting conditions. Gotta hope the middle order finally turn up or that Rohit finally goes on with a start for a big score. We make 300 or 350+ and we will still be the favorites going into the 4th innings, notwithstanding what Woakes and Buttler did last year.

Yeah fully agree, this situation is not our bowlers doing.

Our batting was filth.

Pleased we've got a lead because at 62/5 that looked far from a given, but we really need more than this to make it worth voluntarily choosing to bat 4th at The Oval.

I'd reckon any chase of more than 150 falls into the "decidedly ticklish" category.

Where do you come up with this?

How is it that everyone agrees that it's the batting that's filth but the solution is more bowling?

Feels like I am living in bizarro world.
Solution is to change the batsmen, not more bowling. I don't necessarily agree with going to four bowlers to bolster the batting in addition to that, but I wouldn't hate it as long as Ashwin plays.
