I think there must be more to this story than sees the eye. There is no way Virat would honestly believe that Umesh or Thakur will contribute as much with ball (or bat) compared to Ashwin.

Options are limited due to injury but not a great fan of the 4 right arm fast medium to medium fast bowlers setup of England. Does lack some variation for when it's flat.

I actually think nostrils could do the job for us here. Its all upto the batsmen though. This cant be easy after 78 all out.

I agree with you, I felt Ashwin should have been in from earlier in the series but now everyone has called for ashwin, oval spins a bit later and Ashwin has taken wickets for Surrey there has to be more to this

What on earth is kohli thinking? Ash took 6/29 when he played here for surrey. One of the most spin friendly pitches in the country and there only spinner who, irrespective of his career stats, is averaging well over 100 this series. England's attack also looks REALLY same-samey, would have rested anderson for wood.

But yes, this is not a great selection. Shardul for Shami is fine, but ASh should have been there over Umesh. But this is the side picked. Lets see how it goes. Do feel Umesh can do a job this time.

3 right arm over the wicket seamers and ASh and Jaddu is mighty fine in most conditions unless it is super cloudy or the pitch is super green. We lost the WTC final coz our seamers were off color. Why the **** do you wanna punish the spinner for it?

These are the kind of rubbish errors that get us in trouble. Ashwin is the best spinner out there right now, the guy has proved it time and again that he can adapt to any situation and come up with something to unsettle the batsmen. Win or lose, not going out with your best XI is pathetic.
