Yeah I like that he has the shot and he's happy to play it. What I don't like is that he plays it so much. The problem is he might have gotten the idea into his head he needs to follow the first of your sentences.

"Plum I'm in awe, your gentlemen are playing some right proper cricket mate" - Bill Woodfull c. 1932Proper cricket is whatever you do to win matches you cantankerous fools.
Missed the first two pretty horribly then started connecting. First 16 balls or so were characterised by some very close leaves/playing and missing. All very odd.Hold on.. I've just sat down. Konstas reverse ramped Bumrah in the second over?
Truth.Proper cricket is whatever you do to win matches you cantankerous fools.
Konstas is a big improvement on Leslie Hylton or Donald "I do like the concept of Rhodesia" Bradman my little friendCricket is now a terrible sport for arseholes
Oh grow up. 95% of test matches are still "proper" test matches.Cricket is now a terrible sport for arseholes
Yup. He looks like he's premeditating to a significant degree. I don't like the charges down the wicket either, even though I can see the purpose.Yeah I like that he has the shot and he's happy to play it. What I don't like is that he plays it so much.
Why is the product becoming unwatchable though? I don't see why it has to follow a certain style/pace all the time. If teams like to play the "old school" way, go for it. If they want to Bazball it, more power to them. Whatever helps you win, as GIMH said. From a players perspective - of course. But at some point, the product no longer becomes worth watching. For me anyway, but obviously people love stuff like this, and fair play to them.
It's important to note this is one player...but if this is the future, lawn bowls has a new enthusiast.Cricket is now a terrible sport for arseholes
I mean you say that - Bumrah is going at 4rpo! Unheard of reallyYup. He looks like he's premeditating to a significant degree. I don't like the charges down the wicket either, even though I can see the purpose.
In the end he hasn't actual scored that fast, but considering that were going at about 1 an over against these two opening previously...
He's a poor mans Ben Duckett‘lit up test cricket in 35 minutes’. He’s got 19 off 27 balls. Hardly revolutionary.
